This year, our programmes benefited our community especially families, women, single parents, teenagers and those facing hardships within the Black & Ethnic Minority Groups community. We provided support, awareness to families affected by contextual harm, to reduce conflict in the family home and to empower women to reduce poverty. This was done through parenting seminars, provision of necessities and food to families in need, mental health awareness seminars and personal development programmes for women and those facing poverty. Activities included: - New Beginnings Breakfast seminar where we tackled practical issues around parenting, offering advice and tip for mothers to stay hopeful in difficult situations of parenting. - Insight and information around exploitation seminars on how to safeguard children from exploitation, the impact of domestic abuse on children and reducing conflict. This session provided a networking and interactive atmosphere for mothers to share experience and learn from one another. We were also able to link mothers with similar circumstances as a form of support to one another. Furthermore, information was made available for all attendees on how and where to get long term help. - We provided one to one support directly to mothers, teenagers, young adult and families. For example, we provided confidential counselling and mentoring session to families, mothers and young people. - Our monthly breakfast meetings focussed on different life topics to empower mothers and families. Topics included: Investing in Financial Market, parenting in economic instability, stress management, managing difficult children and many more was practically discussed. - We provided essential items to those facing poverty where the need was identified order to alleviate poverty in our community.
Our main stakeholders are: - The families, women and teenagers that benefit from our work. - Donors and funders - Community partners - Volunteers - Local & National governments Consultation was an important part of our work in 2023/24, both around our specific programmes and our overall strategy and approach. Throughout the year, we gathered feedback from over 500 service users to continually improve the sessions and to develop future projects. This was done through surveys, focus groups, and feedback sessions to understand their needs and measure satisfaction. This input was invaluable in tailoring the needs to better meet the needs and preferences of service users. We run regular training to our volunteers to enhance their skills and knowledge and acknowledge their efforts through events and public recognition. We send donors regular updates and reports to keep them informed of our work and impact. We comply with relevant local and national laws and regulations including submitting timely and accurate accounts and reports as required. We have a network of 20 organisations from cultural, educational and community sectors and work on joint initiatives with them leveraging each partners’ strengths.
