Year Ending: 31 October 2023

Company activities and impact

Rider Resilience is proud to have been able to provide funding to ARC – Adaptive Riders Collective, a Community Interest Company dedicated to making off-road cycling accessible to both disabled and non-disabled riders. As our first beneficiary, ARC utilised the funding to expand their impact during the season. ARC’s ‘come and try’ sessions introduced numerous individuals to off-road adaptive cycling. These sessions offered a welcoming space for new riders to experience the joy of cycling, contributing to their mental, physical, and social well-being. ARC reached a broader community of adaptive riders, fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. Throughout 2023, Rider Resilience actively participated in various events, engaged with the community and shared the powerful stories of individuals whose lives have been helped by cycling. We used multiple platforms to amplify these stories, including the written word, video interviews hosted on YouTube, and podcasts. Rider Resilience attended numerous community events, providing a platform for individuals to share their cycling journeys and connect with others who share similar experiences. We captured and shared stories through written narratives and video interviews. These stories highlighted the transformative power of cycling, inspiring others to explore cycling through times of hardship. Our storytelling efforts reached a wide audience, spreading awareness of Rider Resilience and promoting the benefits of cycling, fostering a deeper connection within the cycling community. Rider Resilience collaborated with local artist Katie Edwards to create a bespoke print. This unique artwork, inspired by our shared passion for cycling, symbolises the resilience and strength that can be found through cycling. This collaboration blended art and cycling, creating a visual representation of the values that Rider Resilience stands for. The artwork resonated with our community and highlighted the role of creativity within cycling.
