We provide a sanctuary for people to just be themselves. Today’s society is becoming more diverse, but at the same time is creating more barriers for people to be themselves and feel accepted. We aim to provide a place where people can be just who they are, with no expectations, and empower them to break down barriers they may face in society. BHVA Axis Hub have: Provided funded places for children and young people to access arts provisions. Partnered with Northamptonshire Sport to provide create and performing arts workshops for vulnerable children during the school holidays. Provided rooms for Ukrainians to learn English as part of their onboarding process for a new company in the Kettering area. Purchased iPads to be used by children and young people for creative learning. Championed diverse and inclusive workforces by providing training to organisations, including the National Trust. Provided business coaching to new and start-up companies to help them flourish and thrive. Researched, prepared and created feasibility study and business plan to apply for funding from the government’s Community Ownership Fund to purchase and begin renovating the former Gala Bingo Hall. Partnered with The Mighty Creatives to provide creative support for vulnerable children and young people.
BHVA Axis Hub’s stakeholders and residents of the Northamptonshire area, local businesses and councils. The directors have lived in the area for several years and developed the business model for The Axis Hub based on their experience of talking to local residents, business owners, creative organisations and the local town council and chamber of commerce. Feedback is provided by users of the current facility as well as supporters for the ambitious plans to redevelop the now derelict former cinema turned bingo hall in Kettering town centre and transforming it into a thriving creative hub.
