Additional information
The CIC has attached a strategic report below, alongside the community interest report. All of our activities continue to benefit the community: our sole purpose as an organisation, is to support and develop a spirit of unity, within not just our community, but communities all around the world. Our long-term strategic aim continues to be the purchase of a community centre to base our work from, however we persist with minor operational and strategic improvements at this time, in order to maximise the success of our activities in the community. Our firm intentions remains the acquisition of a community centre, in order to create a place that would be for all: in which fun, fitness, education, community events would all be possible. We believe this would be greatly beneficial for so many.

Stride for Truth CIC Directors 2023-24 Ann Rogers Suzy Bush Jacqui Mitchell COMMUNITY INTEREST REPORT ‘Uniting communities together across our world’ Our Mission Our aim is to encourage communication and integration within a community; to develop relationships within and across the age groups; to encourage acceptance and tolerance of each other irrespective of age, ethnic origin, gender or sexual orientation. All of our activities are open to everyone in the community with the aim of bringing people of all ages and backgrounds together. In bringing the community together in this way we aim to give people back a sense of belonging, and a sense of unity rather than isolation and division. The principle that underpins our motivation to provide this service to the community is that every person, young or old, rich or poor, irrespective of gender or ethnicity deserves to be respected and valued and to feel loved and cared for by their fellow human beings. Last year – our activities in the community Over the last year, we have held four community parties, which take place at key times of the year (such as Christmas, Easter and Halloween) and as such provide the opportunity for whole communities to come together in the spirit of happiness, enjoyment and support. These parties are mainly aimed at children, and consist of stalls, food and fun activities run by our volunteers. It also provides the chance for children from all backgrounds to come together, celebrate and have fun at times of the year when it can be difficult for some. In contrast to this, we have hosted 24 speaking and listening events over the last 12 months, which provide an opportunity to ask questions, listen to a speaker and discuss a wide range of issues. These are open to the whole community and cover a wide range of themes; many find this both thought-provoking and interesting. As such events take place in a number of different areas throughout the year, it invites all to be involved, and to get talking and sharing thoughts. We also believe strongly in the importance of good health and fitness, and so over the last year, it has been an absolute delight to host our ‘FunFit’ sessions twice-a-week. These embed both fun activities and games, aimed at all ages and physical abilities, within vital fitness practices, aiming to promote both healthy living and positive mental well-being. In addition to this, we have organised a number of community walks: locally and further afield. The intention of these is to provide an opportunity for people to come together whilst also enjoying the benefits of nature and the countryside. These have been well supported, and many enjoy the opportunity to walk, talk and exercise. Finally, we have provided multiple quiz and games nights, at which all from the community can socialise, play games and test their general knowledge. Many enjoy the chance to just relax and have fun. We take pride in our events being open to all: irrespective of race, gender, disability, age, sexual orientation – everyone is welcomed. Next year – our vision for the community: After the success of them previously, we are now looking to expand our community walks to new locations and cultures, in order to spread the spirit of togetherness, unity and positive mental well-being. This Christmas, we aim to organise our community party in a different way: we plan to invite, to our event, many different groups of people who use the centre; with the intention of integrating different cultures and organisations – but most of all bringing people together in a spirit of cohesion, cooperation and unity. Further to our physical events, we are looking to enhance our digital presence, so that anyone, anywhere, can engage and involve themselves in our community globally. Looking next year and further, we are hoping to expand our speaking and listening events to bigger venues and bigger audiences. We have a specific plan to host an evening with a special celebrity guest further afield. This builds on the success we have already had with our such events and should be a great opportunity for all to both question and listen. STRATEGIC REPORT 23-24 In the last year, the Directors have judged that we have made the following improvements: Number 1: Organisational streamlining Over the last year, we have strongly developed the way in which we run our events, focussing on the organisation of our volunteers, officials and preparation. Number 2: Expanding our advertising We have grown our advertising endeavours in many ways: expanding to social media, newspapers, and by making use of targeted marketing. Number 3: Launching our vision for our own community centre It is our aim, to raise money so that we can, one day, own our own community centre, in which we could expand our activities greatly: and use it as a place for everyone. It is the board’s aim to make the following strategic and/or operational improvements in the next financial year: Number 1: Use of data to inform marketing strategies To use a wide-range of data available from our research to inform future advertising methods, locations and strategies. Number 2: Administration expansion To further develop written policies to underpin and inform our practices. Number 3: Expansion and review of website To re-model and simplify our website, in order for both easier accessibility and so it is up to date on our current activities. The board has agreed that these targets will be reviewed and the success evaluated at the next meeting. Overall Evaluation: Has CIC met expectations for this last year? The directors believe that it has been a positive year for the CIC: we have grown and expanded in many ways. Our activities continue to benefit and enrich the community, whilst also being expanded and run more frequently.
