  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Other accounting policies

    Basis of preparation The financial statements have been prepared on the historical cost basis, as modified by the revaluation of certain financial assets and liabilities and investment properties measured at fair value through profit or loss. The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the entity. Revenue recognition Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable for goods supplied and services rendered, net of discounts and Value Added Tax. Revenue from the sale of goods is recognised when the significant risks and rewards of ownership have transferred to the buyer (usually on despatch of the goods); the amount of revenue can be measured reliably; it is probable that the associated economic benefits will flow to the entity; and the costs incurred or to be incurred in respect of the transactions can be measured reliably.

Company activities and impact

Community Buildings Management Care CIC is a specialist social enterprise that operates a supported housing scheme. We deliver individually tailored living, offending behaviour programmes and community interventions to young people aged 16+. The social and emotional development of young people is key to the programme of care we provide. Our therapeutic consultants and support workers offer guidance, support to carers, and work directly with the young people in need. These support mechanisms help us collectively to achie11e positive change for betterment. Assessment and counselling is an integral part of our ongoing process, reviewing essential social history on receipt, so that we are able to achieve a successful programme of individualised care. This is not "assisted living" which is often thought of for older adults, but rather a residential, multi-disciplinary centre that offers independent and transitional living.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our stakeholders include various funders and local government. The stakeholder requirements arc that reports arc submitted periodically. They have been satisfied with project delivery.
