Consultation with stakeholders

We continue to evaluate and gather feedback from our workshops and training programs with our community to ensure the work we do is community led and shows the difference our work is making in the community. Coming here has kept me alive. It gives me a reason to get up and get out of the house, Moira. GL is wonderful, it’s such a great place to be and I rave about it to all my colleagues and recommend it all the people we support, Health Link Worker. Today is a great day and I will achieve my daily goals. Every morning I look at it and read it. Since I did this I no longer go back to bed after dropping my daughter at school. I have been swimming, I am painting my fence, my house is organised, I am putting my washings away. I am also about to start a mother and daughters parent group. I have been drawing at night with my daughter, Donna. The session was good and enjoyed doing the craft. I feel happy doing a craft and enjoying everyone’s company, Valentines day means expressing love to one another, Sabihah. Well had a great day at the Gilded Lilly class today,, learnt a lot and then after the class I got asked if I can take a class and cooking with people to teach them honestly that gave me more confidence I can’t wait now until October, Heather LM. The passion and commitment shown by all members of staff is incredibly heartwarming. What I have learned from being part of this team is to never underestimate the power of women supporting women and to always follow your dream, Alison. Case Study – Cathy August 2023 How did you hear about Gilded Lily, I got made homeless through my family and I went to my doctors because I felt low, I was drowning a wee bit. I had been depressed before and I didn’t want my mental health to go any lower and my doctor told me to come to Gilded Lily. I was a wee bit wary because I was in the house a lot, I only did gardening, I never went out a lot and when I came to GL they were so welcoming, just the smiles and the ladies here, a lot of them are going through struggles as well and we were similar, we were struggling with things and they made me feel welcome and at home and I’ve got to make a good few friends here. I have done a lot of things like soap making, drawing, crafts and my mental health has got better. My son even says that, he sees I have a wee spring in my step. I really like coming here, it helps me get out of bed in the morning, although there’s a few mornings I’ve not wanted to get out of bed but coming here makes me get up and get out. It’s good because I am still homeless, I still don’t know where I’m going, I’m still in limbo and coming here really helps to take my mind off a lot of things for a couple of hours a day and kinda gives me a wee lift because I’m doing something positive. I am genuinely laughing for the first time in a while. I am Genuinely happy for those few hours. I am not saying when I go home that I don’t get a wee bit down and that but it really does ease it, when you come in here you do feel at ease. I don’t have to talk about anything, I don’t need to tell anyone about my life. I have made a good few friends and have even been invited to a wedding next year. It’s amazing, I have been to the confidence course and it has built my confidence and gave me back what a kind of lost a wee bit and I am more the person I was before.
