Cookbook Kitchen is a CIC run by volunteers who put on food events and organise the monthly Chiswick Cheese Market. The Company exists to support independent food traders and raise money for Charity. The monthly Cheesemarket attracts Chiswick locals, Londoner's and tourists to the high street, supporting the small cheese-makers who travel each month from all over the UK, as well as encouraging people to support the local Highstreet. During the year the market donated over £17,000 to charity, held 12 markets and brought thousands of people through the Cheesemarket and to the local Highstreet.
The Cookbook Kitchen CIC works closely with Hounslow Council in the organisation of markets ensuring that the correct licenses and permits are arranged for each market and that it is always in the interests of the local community. The CIC also consults closely with a local shelter which is one of the major benefactors of the CIC. It consults on the events that are put on and how best to donate to the Charity and support their work. The CIC consults with local businesses on the Highstreet taking feedback on how each market was received and whether local traders have any feedback.
