CALLING4GR8TNESS is a non-profit organisation based in Hackney East London born out of our founder’s own lived experience of the foster care system. We maintain a deep-rooted commitment to improving the social mobility of care leavers and care-experienced young people 16–25 years. By building a supportive peer family, who uplift and empower each other we aim to ensure our care-experienced voices remain at the core of everything we do and the decisions we make. CALLING4GR8NESS CIC works collaboratively with local charities, social enterprises, and voluntary groups to strengthen care-experienced young people’s confidence, build their personal tools to help them navigate their mental health needs, and grow their personal networks. Our purpose is to change the current statical narrative for care-experienced young people by offering creative programmes and access to creative opportunities, mentoring, skills-based empowerment programmes, and events. Our facilitators are relatable and include people with care experience, this builds trust and insures our young people’s needs are met.
The companies stakeholders encompass our care experienced young people, and their voices are integral to our decision making processes. We have actively engaged with them through a range of creative empowerment workshops tailored to their needs. These sessions have been complemented by personalised one to one mentoring, resulting in an impressive 98% progression rate into further education and work opportunities among this group. The invaluable feedback received from all care experienced individuals has directly influenced our actions. Their needs, feedback, and positive outcomes achieved have significantly contributed to our securing additional funding for US programmes in 2023- 2024. This success is a testament to our commitment to meet in an exceeding the expectations of our stakeholders. Our unwavering dedication two our founding values and vision remain steadfast.
