Enhancement of Public Spaces: Friends of Thornbury Park CIC has played a pivotal role in improving the physical environment of Thornbury Park. Through regular maintenance, landscaping projects, and the installation of new amenities, the organization has made the park a more attractive and safe place for residents. These improvements have not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the area but have also made the park a hub for outdoor activities, encouraging healthier lifestyles within the community. For example, work parties of 15-20 volunteers cleaning up the park and removing over growth.
Collaboration with Local Authorities: Friends of Thornbury Park CIC maintained close communication with local government officials and departments and maintenance contractors to ensure that all activities and developments were in line with broader community and environmental plans. Regular consultations with these authorities helped secure necessary permits, funding, and support for park projects. The organization held several public meetings and workshops throughout the financial year, inviting residents, local businesses, and other community groups to discuss upcoming plans and ongoing projects. These meetings provided a platform for open dialogue, allowing stakeholders to voice their opinions, ask questions, and suggest ideas. The feedback from these sessions was integral to shaping the direction of various initiatives, ensuring they aligned with community expectations.
