The Company's activities provide benefit to the people in and around the Brecks and Rotherham area through the provision of a local, multi-purpose community centre. These activities include a craft group, coffee afternoons, indoor mat bowls session, fitness and well-being classes, baby and toddler group, unpaid carers support sessions. These activities benefit the community by giving them a place to come together, socialise and meet other people, combatting loneliness and social isolation. The fitness and excercise sessions assist the local residents with not only their physical wellbeing but also their emotional and mental wellbeing. Other activities include holding trade and craft fairs and other fundraising events for local charities and to raise funds for the ongoing costs of the community hub. The CICalso allows other local businesses to hire the space for their projects and individuals to have private parties or run activities themselves. This in turn supports the local economy and supports small business in the area.
Stakeholders for the CIC are the general public, local residents and those using the community hub on a regular basis for groups and activities. We have just implemented an anonymous feedback system via a suggestions box for the general public to use and regular hirers have been consulted via email with regards to any issues or suggestions they may have. We have regular talks with the groups and users to ensure they are happy with the running of the CIC and to give them an opportunity to put forward any areas for improvement. So far we have not had any issues to deal with and are currently looking at ways to incorporate the requests and suggestions for future activities and developments.
