The National Community Law Project CIC is a social enterprise set up to assist vulnerable, low-income and marginalised people with legal support. We are made up of law students and graduates who volunteer our time to gain Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) to contribute to the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE). As a new initiative, students are required to have completed 2 years of work experience to contribute to becoming qualified solicitors after successfully completing the SQE I and SQE 2 exams. Our project assists in providing this foundation experience. We assist the community by helping them understand legal issues presented to them and where we can, help them find the right legal representation (if required). Our team volunteer their time to help the most in need in society with legal support. As there is no compulsory education in law in the UK, and because of the restrictions in legal aid funding imposed by the LASPO ACT 2012. Many people facing potential legal issues become overwhelmed with the whole legal process. We are here to bridge that gap, as a result, our clients become far more aware of their individual situation.
