In this past year, the organisation has undertaken a number of activities towards our aims. These activities included: - 61 One on One support sessions with 48 VI individuals, some of whom were supported on more than one occasion. These sessions included Welfare Applications, IT support and Training, Access to Health Services. - 6 Coffee Mornings, bringing together approximately 25 VI and Disabled individuals. - 35 weekly VI cricket training sessions, in collaboration with Active Neaham, engaging with 8 VI individuals. - 2 surveys, one on behalf of Tower Hamlets Council regarding quality of life in the borough and one on behalf of the NHS regarding Access to Health Services, engaging with 122 VI and Disabled individuals. - 1 Think tank, on behalf of the NHS, bringing together VI and Disabled individuals with representatives from local authorities and hospitals - 8 school visits, engaging with more than 1500 students and 100 members of teaching staff. - Participation at 7 community events, to promote our services and engage with our community. During these events, the company engaged with more than 2000 members of the public.
The primary beneficiaries are Visually Impaired and Disabled Individuals living in London. Through the company's services, they have been helping them tackle the Cost of Living Crisis, Digital Inclusion, Isolation and Marginalisation, as well as Access to Health Services. They also make an effort to collaborate with as many like minded organisations as possible, so they can extend our reach and join our forces. Some of the organisations they worked with in the past year are: - One Place East (Redbrige) - Beyond Sight Loss (Tower Hamlets) - Active Newham (Newham) - Enabled Living (Newham) - Global Eyes (Tower Hamlets) - Age UK - Redbridge Sensory Team - Redbridge CVS - Rehabilitation Team of Tower Hamlets - Rehabilitation Team of Waltham Forest Especially in the case of Global Eyes, they have helped them in their transition from a community group to a Community Interest Company, by guiding them through the process of registering their company. They have also been working very closely with the Mayor of Newham, Rokhsana Fiaz, who has been very keen on listening to the community’s concerns and helping tackle them. Finally, through the organisation's visits to mainstream and special education schools, they have been spreading awareness, combating bullying and helping prevent avoidable blindness.
The total amount paid or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £18600 There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
