Company activities and impact

The Pump launched a youth project called The Future Sound of Trowbridge. A youth led and focused project aimed at platforming and encouraging young people to engage in every aspect of the music experience in their home town. We provided music community engagement organisations Purple Noise CIC & Trowbridge Ukulele Club studio space for their activities. Our venue offers affordable rehearsal space to local musicians 5 nights a week. Our music programme offered a full variety of accessible live entertainment most weekend of the year. Our music programme offers first hand experience and access to industry standard equipment for budding technicians, successfully developing a number of students skillsets. We have been able to hire professional equipment to other organisations & community groups within Trowbridge.

Consultation with stakeholders

The Pump has strong but informal links with our community. All of our activities develop as a result of other activities either happening else where within our wider community or as a direct result of engagement with our stakeholders. These include Trowbridge Festival Crest Studios Local musicians, particularly our rehearsal acts. The Pub landlord, whose land our building resides in. Regular hirers. Talent or management agencies. Other live music venues in our vicinity. Funders, such as Wiltshire Council. Trowbridge Chamber of Commerce. Some of these will take the form of regular direct communication, others via applications for projects or funding. Ticket holders and prospective customers are engaged through our social media too, where our story is regularly updated and participation is encouraged. Or training and networking opportunities provided within the community, usually driven by the Chamber of Commerce.
