Since registering as a Community Interest Company, The New Forest Off Road Club has been committed to increasing representation in the outdoors by providing guided matriarchal experiences. So far we have achieved this by: Facilitating 27 rides with 216 individuals Financially supporting and mentoring 9 people through Mountain Bike Level 2 assessments. Inspiring, encouraging and supporting the development of 38 grassroots cycling communities through our online workshop series. Hosting 4 Adventure story evenings for 161 audience members to help inspire people to ride their bikes The number of cycling trips made by women in England rose by more than 50% in 2020, with quieter roads helping to open up cycling to a demographic known to be more wary of the dangers of the road. Women’s cycling increased from a quarter of all trips in 2019, to just under a third in 2020. We are dedicated to continue to grow our sphere of influence, supporting people to get qualifications and to continue to demonstrate an alternative to traditional, competition centred cycling clubs.
