In the financial year, the company's activities have significantly benefited the community by promoting wellbeing through music and enhancing social inclusion. Key initiatives included: Finding Harmony Programme: A 10-week singing for wellbeing programme, which provided participants with access to mental health resources and free singing lessons. This programme played a crucial role in improving mental health and overall wellbeing within the community. Wellness Day: A day focused on singing and wellbeing activities, where participants also enjoyed a guided tour of the museum. This event was designed to enrich community members' mental and emotional health. Reggae & Soul Jam Programme: An 8-week singing for wellbeing programme that engaged community members in music activities, further promoting mental health and strengthening social connections. This included a finale performance. Youth Artist Development Programme: An 8-week programme, included singing, songwriting, music production, recording and producing 3 music videos. This was aimed at enhancing personal development and skills among young people. This initiative focused on boosting confidence, creativity, and communication skills through music. Research Project - ‘Re-Igniting Windrush Folk Songs and Stories’: An intergenerational project that explored the use of African Caribbean folk songs to address mental health disparities among the African Caribbean community in Lewisham and Greenwich. This project emphasised the importance of cultural heritage in improving community wellbeing. Windrush 75 Celebrations: Included a film screening, community consultation, art project, pavilion celebration, and flag raising, all aimed at celebrating and preserving African Caribbean cultural heritage while building community spirit. Corporate Singing for Wellbeing Workshops: Delivered within tech and government organisations, these workshops focused on improving workplace wellbeing by reducing stress, enhancing morale, and cultivating a positive workplace culture through the power of music.
As part of our commitment to engaging the community and developing our projects, we consulted with key stakeholders, including community members, local organisations, and programme participants. We also conducted community consultations to learn more about the types of workshops the community would like. These consultations were carried out through in-person workshops, feedback forms, and ongoing discussions throughout our programme delivery. This allowed us to tailor our offerings to better meet the community's needs. Additionally, we gathered feedback from participants and organisations involved in our Corporate Singing for Wellbeing Workshops to refine and improve these sessions, ensuring they meet the needs of the corporate environment.
