HEALING SOLIDARITY COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY

Directors' report period ended 31 March 2024

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 March 2024

Principal activities of the company

Our online community continued to host around 2000 members throughout this year and we have continued to connect practitioners there through the events that we ran and the connections we offered. In early 2023 we ran a series of online events for our community asking them about what they wanted Healing Solidarity to do next and in October we also ran an internal event in person event for ten people exploring the possible ways forward for the organisation. Building on what we had been able to initiate with our previous support from Emergence Foundation we continued, with support from Ariadne Funders Networks to offer a BIPOC space for development practitioners in partnership with them. Our Global Communicators Connect events continued culminating in September 2023 when a final celebration event was held. We also continued to work with INGOs as consultancy clients supporting them to re-imagine their ways of working.

COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

HEALING SOLIDARITY COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY

Company Number: 12965223 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 March 2024

Company activities and impact

During the year our main activities continued to be the running of an online community and courses, offering consultancy services to organisations working in international development and investing profit back in to our free spaces for our members. In this year we also created a series of dedicated consultation spaces to seek input from our members about the next steps for the organisation and the ways in which we might work in future. Our online community continued to host around 2000 members throughout this year and we have continued to connect practitioners there through the events that we ran and the connections we offer. We also ran a number of events including a BIPOC space for development practitioners, our Global Communicators Connect Monthly event and others events focused on self and collective care. We spent a good deal of the year in reflection with our community and exploring possible funding models to sustain Healing Solidarity and considering our next steps as an organisation and eventually made a decision to close the CIC after the end of this financial year.

Consultation with stakeholders

Yes. We continued to communicate with our community through email updates, the online space we ran and also through specific consultation events designed to get the input of our wider community in to the next steps for Healing Solidarity. The online space we ran through the year meant that we continued to be in regularly in communication with many of our stakeholders. We also used emails and surveys to solicit feedback from people in our online space throughout the year. In the end following a period of reflection and consultation with many of our community, we have taken the decision to close the CIC.
