Company activities and impact

Extraordinary Us is an artistic production company, based in the West Midlands, aiming to question perceptions of personal or communal significance. We believe that we are all important members of the societies and communities we belong to and that each and every one of us are extraordinary.

Consultation with stakeholders

“The company's stakeholders include residents or members of the communities our projects directly engage. In this accounting year it covered Type 1 Diabetics and relations of Type 1 Diabetics - whom we directly interviewed and consulted with in preparation for the project Dia-Beat-Es. Our Creative Director Paul is himself a Type 1 Diabetic, and has been since he was 2 years old, so the community is reflected in his own lived experience of this condition. External to this we also consulted with residents of Cheylesmore for The Museum of Me in which we were lead by the stories coming out of that specific district of Coventry. Through an open call we selected ten residents to each have a day long museum in their own communal space which was specifically crafted around them [www.themuseumofme.co.uk/cheylesmore]. This project is made in close collaboration with the individuals, and engages in conversation the larger community who are invited to participate in the opening ceremonies every morning of the activity and share their own stories. Those involved have full sign off of the work.
