Directors' report period ended 30 November 2023

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 30 November 2023

Principal activities of the company

Overall: We set up the TIPS CIC in November 2022 and took us a lot of time to get the bank account and details in place. We officially launched the CIC in Sep 2023 and started counselling one client in November 2023. We have not made any profit this year, but the idea was to set up plan for services and build a strong local network and sense of community. We do aim to apply for more local and national grants to help subsidise the cost to clients who come work wellbeing services. Compliance & Demonstrating good corporate governance: In terms of adherence to ethics and framework – we adhere to the guidelines and framework set by our professional bodies i.e. British Psychological Society (BPS, UK) for psychologists and assistant psychologists; British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) for counsellors and/or psychotherapists; UK Council for Psychotherapists (UKCP) for Psychotherapist. As a CIC we currently do not employ individuals and/or professionals but work with them as partners who once provide services, will be invoicing the CIC for their costs. All professionals are expected to have necessary insurance and compliance with their professional body (as needed). Any costs and/or invoices are generally approved by a Director (who has not submitted the claims). Any decisions regarding costs of services and/or applications to grant(s) are often jointly made and agreed to by all the 3 directors. Applications to any grant(s) would require bringing in more experts and/or collaborators who are also experienced in the area of work and bring in more scientific and clinical experience. Significant Events/or Risks: At this point (until 30th Nov 2023) there has been no critical events or risks which may impact the company’s operations and/or financial performance. Future Overview and Outlook: Between Sep – Dec 2023 – we hoped to get one or two clients to pilot the service provision and ensure good compliance to forms, and clinical practice. Between July 2024 to Aug 2025, we hope to bring in more visibility and apply for small pots of money where possible to help run the service to clients. Between July 2024 and Dec 2024, we hope to have come up with a plan for grant applications and apply for few local and national grants to help set up the space for TIPS, CIC. We estimate 2 to 3 years to have a small office space and stable funding to run the organization and service(s) smoothly and set up good research and clinical practice in collaborations with local Universities and NHS practitioners.

COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

THE TRAUMA INFORMED PRACTICE SERVICES (TIPS) CIC

Company Number: 14459776 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 November 2023

Company activities and impact

The CIC started its activities in Nov 2023. We have been providing support to individuals at a low cost and also supporting one-on-one counselling for complex trauma for veterans in collaboration with other local charities. Some of the aims of the CIC was: 1. To help one-on-one counselling and rehabilitation support to people in the community. 2. To support training and skills in practitioners who work in areas of care and wellbeing. 3. Apply for funding to be able to set up a local community space for wellbeing and counselling services. This year we have seen up to 2 clients and are slowly increasing our activity. These clients have felt immensely supported through the services we have provided. We are hoping to apply for more grants in the near future.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders have been the local charities, practitioners and professionals who have referred people to us for wellbeing support and counselling. We also get feedback from service users occasionally. At the launch we invited local practitioners (psychologists, counsellors etc.), researchers and colleagues from Bournemouth University and local service users to come together to discuss existing gaps and how to set the service up. We meet the key stakeholders (service users and providers and people working with veterans and police) once a year (July 2024) and hope to increase this frequency in the near future. We work closely Special Boat Services, where we connect to see how we can support them. We have had one meeting earlier on this year and plan to connect again between Sep to Dec 2024. In July 2024 we held our first networking event in collaboration with Bournemouth University and national and local stakeholders including NHS providers of service to veterans, police detectives from Hampshire county and researchers and practitioners who work with sexual abuse, and rape across the veterans and police to come together and bridge gaps and build collaborations.

Directors' remuneration

As of Nov 2023, “none of the directors had received no remuneration”. One of the directors, Shanti has been providing the service of counselling (November 2024 to March 2024 and has invoiced the CIC for her time in March 2024.
