Year ending July 2023, CIC has not yet started trading as working on fundraising and building the team. CIC aims to champion the cause of cultural integration and community well-being in West Cumbria through the vibrant lens of Indian heritage. Our core mission is to knit the local community closer by introducing them to the rich tapestry of Indian culture, primarily through culinary arts. We offer an array of services including authentic Indian food markets, culinary workshops, and cultural events, all designed to foster inclusivity, health, and social cohesion.
The company’s stakeholders are mostly residents of West Cumbria (mainly, Whitehaven, Egremont, Workington, Seascale) and the directors are also local residents of Whitehaven and Egremont. We are speaking with various local neighbours about their interest in Indian vegetarian food and culture aiming towards health and wellbeing and so far communities are showing interest. More specifically some discussion with another CIC Pride Cumbria.
