Principal activities of the company

Run workshops exploring the reasons behind Female Genital Mutilation(FGM) amongst African women with a view to educating and raising awareness of the physical and mental issues associated with it. Launch an engagement project for survivors of FGM to raise awareness of the practice in communities. Provide sensitisation workshops on the dangers of FGM. Provide sensitisation workshops on the dangers of FGM Provide peer-peer support.

Company activities and impact

The company runs workshops for the purpose to explore the reasons behind Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) among African Women with the view to educate and create awareness of the physical and mental issues associated with it. During the year, the company runs several workshops such as FGM workshop to continue to raise awareness of the practice in communities. Through its partnerships with the following organisations: The Women Resource Centre, The National FGM Centre, The UKSayNoMoretoDomesticViolence, The Domestic Abuse Board, Essex, Wailing and Hartsfield and Hertfordshire, Vavengers, Mayor Of London Campaign group, Oxford Against Cutting ( OAC), the company created educational resources for the various organisations to educate members of their community about FGM and other violence against women and girls. Furthermore, the company became community Ambassadors holding monthly hubs in different districts of the UK to talk in different districts of the UK to raise awareness about FGM. The company was nominated as intermediary of the Mayor of London’s END FGM NOW campaign. Also, as partner with the Oxford Against Cutting (OAC), the company facilitated FGM workshops in raising awareness amongst students. Overall, these workshops have helped some women start their journey of healing, especially after having a traumatic life-changing life experience. it has provided exposure to other partner agencies which have been willing to help. - Launching an engagement project for survivors of FGM to raise awareness of the practice in communities. Through these networking events, women have been able to foster a community of experience whereby they can interact and share their stories without being feared of being judged or victimized.

Consultation with stakeholders

The organization stakeholders are residents in the local area and other partners such as charitable organizations, The organization continues to engage all its stakeholders, especially women, The purpose of the engagement is to create awareness among the wider public. This will enable other women to come forward and share their stories without being judged.
