Company activities and impact

The Company now has 4 community gardens. These include a fruit orchard with raised beds and a shelter and space for community activities, provision of individual and community allotments with a polly tunnel a large shed, tools and training, two further community gardens where people work together to produce food for themselves and the wider community. We also purchased and rented some land to set up a farm start which provides land, facilities and training for people wanting to get into agriculture or horticulture. This is the only farm start facility in Wales and the only one in the UK that includes animal farming. We have participated in local events and provided training and resources for those wishing to produce food locally.

Consultation with stakeholders

We hold regular open days at all of our gardens and start up farm. We actively seek feedback and ideas from the wider public. This informed our decision to set up a start up farm and also informs the training and activities that people want. Examples of acting on feedback are, providing training on growing perennial vegetables, herb growing, preserving and seed saving.
