Yo! Street Zone CIC is a BAME-led street football organisation based in Margate, Kent with a vision to enrich and change lives through street football. Our focus lies on running doorstep street football sessions in the most deprived areas of Thanet, bringing together disengaged, disadvantaged and vulnerable young people of various ages and cultural backgrounds. Our sessions encourage positive core values and life skills, raising aspirations and life chances by enabling young people to be more confident and creative with the ball and in life. In the financial year 23/24 we were able to increase our income which enabled us to run several projects in Margate and Thanet, engaging BAME young people with doorstep street football activities, reducing anti-social behaviour, increasing physical activity and social interaction which are all vital parts of our work. With our work, we were able to bring unused play areas and parks back to life and improve the mental and physical health of more than 300 young people in our local community.
The directors of Yo! Street Zone CIC are passionate about football and they use their skills to make a difference in the community. They started a community enterprise with a vision to enrich and change lives through street football. What has come out of consultation with stakeholders: further developing our fundraising, business, marketing and sustainability plan.
One of our directors, Yofi Yvorra, is employed by Yo! Street Zone CIC and receives a monthly salary. The total amount payable in relation to a director in respect of qualifying services was £34,767.
