Fundraising FourPawSpaniels is a not for profit fundraising organisation. We support, with grants/donations, a number of local, national and international dog rescue charities. These charities facilitate the rescue, transport and responsible re-homing of stray and unwanted dogs. All rescue animals are neutered, health checked and fully vaccinated prior to re-homing. On-going support is provided for the new owners. The activities have benefited by helping to rescue and rehome 145 dogs in the UK, furthermore, there has been ongoing active discussions with other groups regarding the practices of kennels operating in the UK which the wider community believes are not following best practice. These discussions have resulted in the authorities again being informed. There is ongoing concern about 1 particular kennels/rescue The continues to be ongoing chat group discussions and advise given on best practices for looking after rescued dogs and best practice has been encouraged amongst the wider community.
The stakeholders are various dog rescue charities operating in the UK and in other countries. Prior to agreeing to support the dog rescue organisation a vetting process is followed ensuring that the organisation is ethical and that they have a robust rescue and rehoming process – continual dialogue and consultation between the heads of these organisations and FFPS takes place around the challenges facing the rescue organisations including specific dogs requiring rescue and the needs of those dogs going forward. This continual vetting process has resulted in another organisation being removed from the list of supported organisations.
