Seren Dwt CIC has continued to produce and gift welcome boxes to all families of babies born with Down syndrome across Wales (between 35-40 per year estimated). We have continued to run a fully funded monthly baby and toddler group for families of young children with Down syndrome where we invite external people in to introduce activities such as Makaton signing. We offer a safe space for families to connect, ask questions, and pick up information. During school holidays Seren Dwt CIC fund and run family days in different locations across South Wales encouraging the Down syndrome community across Wales to come together. We run these events in locations that allow children and siblings of all ages to attend. Seren Dwt CIC fund regular online Down syndrome related education sessions/training webinars for families to attend through other well-established 3rd sector groups (e.g. DSUK, Lejeune Clinic). Through online platforms, Seren Dwt CIC has built a growing community of families with children with Down syndrome encouraging sharing of experiences, questions, and support.
Our stakeholders are the families directly benefitting from the welcome boxes, events and support provided. Although no formal consultation has taken place we involve the stakeholders in planning events, venues etc to ensure we can involve as many people as possible.
No remuneration was received
