Principal activities of the company

The Vauxhall Band is a charitable organisation whose purposes include the furthering of the arts and education through research, concert performances and educational programs, particularly in relation to eighteenth and nineteenth century music associated with Vauxhall Gardens, London. The activities, researched and led by Artistic Director Laura Piras, are carried out by a collective of leading period instrument specialist musicians performing as “The Vauxhall Band”, which is a revival of the name by which the group of musicians who played at Vauxhall Gardens were referred to historically.
