Company activities and impact

The Al Sudaniya Mentoring (ASM) programme provides tailored, holistic, one-on-one mentoring to young Sudanese women by Sudanese women across the globe with the goals of providing women with the tools and resources to become engaging leaders and make a difference in their communities in Sudan and to build a global network of Sudanese women for knowledge and skills sharing. In January 2023 until December 2023 we worked on recruiting mentees for the 10th batch of mentees on the 2023 ASM programme. We selected the mentees and mentors for the programme in April 2023, and on Friday 14th April 2023, we held the opening ceremony for mentees in Sudan, which included an induction to the programme and the workshops as part of the programme. We also organised fun team-building activities so that mentees were able to get to know each other better and build team dynamics between them. The following day on Saturday 15th April, the war started in Sudan, and we were unable to launch the programme for mentees, or conduct any activities with the newly recruited 2023 mentees.

Consultation with stakeholders

In general our stakeholders are our mentees and mentors on the programme. At the end of every mentoring programme, we conduct a session with them in order to understand the strengths, weaknesses, and ways we can improve the programme for the following year. Their feedback is critical to the enhancement of the programme, as we incorporate their feedback to strengthen the programme year on year. The areas we consult them on are all areas of the programme, which range from the curriculum, the one-on-one sessions, workshops, structure of the programme, and other key programmatic elements. As mentioned above, due to the war in Sudan, we were unable to conduct any activities for the ASM programme.
