A Widow's Way Forward (AWWF) aims to provide a support ecosystem for widows, particularly from African and Caribbean backgrounds, up to the age of 65 and beyond. The organization focuses on improving the psychological, social, physical, and economic wellbeing of widows, helping them rebuild their lives. Widows often face isolation, depression, and health issues due to high stress and lack of care. AWWF offers tailored support to prevent long-term health problems and reduce the strain on community services. Widowhood has increased significantly, especially after Covid-19, highlighting the need for dedicated support. AWWF seeks to raise awareness, provide practical and emotional assistance, and ensure widows' needs are recognized and addressed. By supporting widows, AWWF not only improves their lives but also benefits the wider community and reduces healthcare costs.
The company stakeholders were envisioned to be: widows in the catchment area of NW3, widows who are referred through personal networks.
