In order to assist you to fulfil your duties under the Companies Act 2006, we have prepared for your approval the financial statements of R.S. Crooke & Co. (Paper Sales) Limited for the year ended 31 December 2023 which comprise the Statement of comprehensive income, the Balance sheet and the related notes from the company's accounting records and from information and explanations you have given us.

For the year ended 31 December 2023 the company was entitled to exemption from audit under section 480 of the Companies Act 2006.

Members have not required the company to obtain an audit for the year in question in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The director acknowledges his responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 with respect to accounting records and the preparation of financial statements.

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime and in accordance with the provisions of FRS 102 Section 1A - small entities.

The financial statements were approved and authorised for issue by the board and were signed on its behalf on 19 September 2024.

General information

R.S. Crooke & Co. (Paper Sales) Limited is a limited liability company incorporated in England and Wales, company registration number 00473449. The address of the registered office and principal place of business is Hermitage Mills, Hermitage Lane, Maidstone, Kent, ME16 9NP.  The principal activity of the company is to act as a dormant holding company and has not traded during the period.

2.Accounting policies

 
2.1

Basis of preparation of financial statements

The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention unless otherwise specified within these accounting policies and in accordance with FRS 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland' and the requirements of the Companies Act 2006. The disclosure requirements of Section 1A of FRS 102 have been applied other than where additional disclosure is required to show a true and fair view.

 
2.2

Valuation of investments

Investments in subsidiaries are measured at cost less accumulated impairment.

 
2.3

Financial instruments

The company only enters into basic financial instrument transactions that result in the recognition of financial assets and liabilities such as amounts owed to and from group undertakings.

Employees

The company has no employees other than the directors, who did not receive any remuneration.

The company has taken advantage of the exemptions avaliable under FRS102, section 33.5, not to disclose details of its transactions with members of the group headed by H Young (Plastics) Limited group on the grounds that 100% of the voting rights in the company are controlled within that group and the company is included in the consolidated financial statements.
The group accounts of H Young (Plastics) Limited can be obtained from Companies House.

Controlling party

The immediate parent company is R.S. Crooke Holdings Limited, a company incorporated in England and Wales.
The ultimate parent company is H Young (Plastics) Limited, Hermitage Mills, Hermitage Lane, Maidstone, ME16 9NP, a company incorporated in England and Wales and in which consolidated financial statements are prepared.
