Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 31 December 2023 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Income is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable for goods supplied and services rendered, net of discounts. Income from the rendering of services is measured by reference to the stage of completion of the service transaction at the end of the reporting period provided that the outcome can be reliably estimated. When the outcome cannot be reliably estimated, revenue is recognised only to the extent that expenses recognised are recoverable.

    Other accounting policies

    Financial instruments: Financial instruments are classified and accounted for, according to the substance of the contractual arrangement, as either financial assets, financial liabilities or equity instruments. An equity instrument is any contract that evidences a residual interest in the assets of the company after deducting all of its liabilities.

Company activities and impact

The company organised and hosts an international conference once every two years. It gives the opportunity for Library and informational professionals from all sectors (academic, public, health, law etc.) an opportunity to exchange ideas and share of best practice.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company's stakeholders are library and information professionals from all sectors and active researchers who attend the conference and consult the conference proceedings. Feedback from the 2021 conference was requested from delegates and was used to inform the 2023 conference. This was repeated in 2023 following the conference and will be used to inform the 2025 conference.
