FAMILIAR FRIENDS DAY CLUB C.I.C.

Year Ending: 31 December 2023

Company activities and impact

Familiar Friends Day Club CIC offers a safe, respectful day club where individuals with dementia and memory issues can gather to engage in various activities and enjoy a hot meal. This service also provides caregivers with 5 hours of much-needed respite. Operating three days a week, the club features a wide range of activities, including quizzes, bingo, musical entertainment, puzzles, games, and arts such as pottery painting and flower arranging. It attracts participants from across Coventry and Warwickshire. The day club also benefits the community by providing volunteering opportunities, many of whom are experienced nursing and social work practitioners, as well as some that are care givers whom have recently lost loved ones.

Consultation with stakeholders

Key stakeholders for Familiar Friends Day Club are: 1. Service Users 2. Care givers of service users 3. Volunteers Due to the nature of our service and illness, no formal consultation has been held with Service users directly. Throughout the year we have gathered informal feedback from Care Givers in order to improve our service. With our volunteer network we have consulted multiple times during the year. As a result of one of these consultations it was agreed to increase our prices for 2024 due to the quality of service provided, when compared with what was currently available in the market, and the variety of activities that we wanted to be able to continue to offer. As a community CIC Day Club we continue to offer a significantly cheaper alternative than private day club service providers. It was also highlighted by our volunteers that our current practices of removing all resources from our day club on a daily basis was no longer practical to a smooth start up of sessions. As a result it was agreed with the Council, from whom we rent our day club space, to make provision for an external secure area in which to store resources.

Directors' remuneration

The two Directors have received a combined total of £15623 in salary from the company in this period.
