Wise Minded Wellbeing CIC is a mental health service, which supports the mental health and wellbeing of children, young people and adults from Kirklees and the surrounding areas. Wise Minded Wellbeing CIC was incorporated in March 2021, so this is the CIC’s third year of operation. During the year 2023-2024, Wise Minded Wellbeing CIC has benefited the community in the following ways: 1 - 10 individuals (5 adolescents and 5 adults) have accessed one-to-one psychological therapy, and between them completed a total of 110 individual sessions. These sessions have supported individuals experiencing a range of mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem/confidence, and difficulties managing emotions. 2 - 5 individuals have accessed a total of 24 subsidised, small group, yoga classes. Students have reported that these classes have benefited their mental health and wellbeing, as well as aiding relaxation. Subsidising these classes has allowed them to remain small classes, therefore making them more accessible to people who do not feel confident in larger groups. 3 - 1 child has accessed one-to-one yoga therapy, completing 3 sessions. These sessions supported the child to develop skills for managing difficult emotions more effectively - through increased awareness of their body and mind, as well as developing specific tools and skills (such as breathing practices). 4 - 2 women have accessed one-to-one yoga therapy, and between them have completed a total of 3 individual sessions. These sessions were funded by the CIC, from a previous year's profits. The sessions have supported the women to develop skills for managing difficult emotions (such as low mood and stress) more effectively, as well as giving them some tools to manage the impacts of menopause more effectively. 5 - Two women’s circles were held, which were attended by 4 women. These provided the women an opportunity to rest, engage in therapeutic yoga practices, and spend time connecting with each other in a respectful and non-judgemental environment.
Stakeholders for Wise Minded Wellbeing CIC include: 1 - Those members of the local community (Kirklees and surrounding areas) who have, or are at risk of, developing mental health difficulties. 2 - Those members of the community who have accessed, or are accessing, therapeutic interventions or general yoga classes with Wise Minded Wellbeing CIC. 3 - Those who may refer individuals for therapeutic interventions, including local GPs, Social Prescribers, other health and social care professionals, and carers of those experiencing mental health difficulties. 4 - Those who may fund or commission services for people with mental health difficulties. 5 - Other third sector organisations who work for the benefit of the same community. Wise Minded Wellbeing CIC has asked for feedback from members of the community who have accessed our services. Both those accessing psychological therapy, and those accessing yoga classes, have provided positive feedback about their experiences,
The total amount of remuneration received by Directors was £7,668 (see ‘Staff Costs’ on the Income Statement submitted as part of the accounts). There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
