  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Depreciation is provided to write off the cost of the asset over its expected useful life. Depreciation rates have been applied as follows: Plant and machinery. 20% straight line

    Other accounting policies

    1. The financial statements are prepared under the historical cost convention. 2. Grants towards capital expenditure are released to the Profit and Loss Account over the expected useful life of the Assets. Grants towards revenue expenditure are released to Profit and Loss Account as the related expenditure is incurred. 3. Depreciation is provided to write off the cost of the asset over its expected useful life.

Company activities and impact

In the space provided below, please insert a general account of the company’s activities in the financial year to which the report relates, including a description of how they have benefited the community. The company’s activities are aimed to benefit the residents of Nottingham and surrounding areas additionally, where needed, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said residents and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to provide nutritional meals, a pantry, cultural diversity within schools and promote wellbeing through various projects to improve the conditions of life for the residents. Sanatan Community Service CIC has distributed of sustainable ready meals, and pantry boxes for the homeless and needy within the community and with organisations working to avoid food poverty and isolation. The company has also collaborated with other organisations to cook and deliver hot meals to school children during school holidays. The company has a bank of volunteers who collect groceries, fruits and food ingredients donated by local supermarkets. It also receives donations from local residents.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our stakeholders are provider of shelter to homeless and also people who come to Food Bank. The company regularly consults individuals who visit Food Bank and also organisations who run homeless shelters, and receive their feedback. This is mainly regarding making improvements in providing healthy and nutritious hot meals.
