Fruitful Orchard CIC runs Ecotherapy-based projects to improve the mental and physical well-being of marginalised families in London. Our key initiatives include social and well-being activities in nature, free workshops, subsidised nature connection experiences, and nature-based training programs. We made a positive impact in the community by hosting food cultivation workshops, organising beginner-friendly nature experiences like farm visits and camping trips, offering free woodland walks, providing subsidised pony experiences for children aged 4 to 12, and running free workshops on food harvesting and preservation.
Fruitful Orchard aims to bring together individuals from marginalised communities by organising farm visits and reconnecting them with green spaces in and around London. Consultations with stakeholders have highlighted the following priorities: increasing visits to orchards with opportunities for fruit picking, providing subsidised horse riding lessons for low-income families, offering access to growing spaces and allotments to help people begin their food-growing journey, and expanding nature activities for beginners, including fishing, sailing, and kayaking.
