n the year 2023/2024 Time to Grow has benefited the community in multiple ways; Increased and sustained activity in 25 gardens across North London Expanded activity from Waltham Forest to Hackney and Haringey Boroughs in London Supported The Gleaners Cooperative with fresh local organic vegetables for their running of a cafe in Walthamstow. Supported Curry Club, North London Action for the Homeless and Holy Trinity Food Share with fresh local organic vegetables Run 5 courses (each entailing 5 sessions) in urban food growing for people predominantly living in Leytonstone. This was funded by a grant by the Waltham Forest Adult Learning Service. Held a community harvest feast at the Gleaners Cafe with garden owners Held a community harvest feast for Hackney volunteers Held 2 garden coordinators training to develop volunteers in leadership skills Built a nature connection area at Kelmscott School in Waltham Forest
Time to Grow’s stakeholders are residents, volunteers, the Gleaners Cooperative and Organic Lea A coordinator and volunteer meeting is held monthly where everyone has an opportunity to feedback on the ongoing activities. Regular informal feedback from garden owners is solicited from garden coordinators when the opportunity arises.
