Principal activities of the company

Principal activities of the company Northampton Kenyan Community Interest Company is a not for profit organisation originally founded in 2009 and incorporated in 2020 by a small group of migrants from Kenya as an effort to reduce isolation and share knowledge to aid integration into a new unfamiliar culture Our main aims are to support each other through building confidence raising self esteem promoting physical and mental wellbeing create a sense of belonging identify and develop basic skills such as social skills The organisations activities have benefited the community in the following ways To promote and defend the culture traditions and welfare of Northampton Kenyan Community To provide a forum for social and cultural interactions among members To assist members during various occasions such as bereavements and celebrations To foster and strengthen the bonds of unity amongst Northampton Kenyan Community members To create awareness of Kenyan rich cultures during National Holidays

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Fixed assets are included at cost. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost of each asset over its expected useful life using the reducing balance method. Assets are depreciated as follows: Instruments & Equipments at 12% p.a.

The company promote and defend the culture, traditions and welfare of Northampton Kenyan Community. It provide a forum for social and cultural interactions among members. the company assist members during various occasions such as bereavements and celebrations. It foster and strengthen the bonds of unity amongst Northampton Kenyan Community members. And creates awareness of Kenyan rich cultures during National Holidays

Consultation with stakeholders

Consultation with stakeholders Northampton Kenyan Community Interest Company’s stakeholders are currently our board of committee, all project managers, volunteers, regulators, all project beneficiaries and the local community at large. Northampton Kenyan Community Interest Company has been involved with consultation through quarterly board meetings, consultation forums, surveys and questionnaires at various levels with all our stake holders to enable more informed decision making towards the success of the organisation. Northampton Kenyan Community Interest Company has continued feeding and helping some of it’s members who were adversely affected by covid-19 as a response to the need of its stakeholders.
