I LIKE NETWORKING (ILN) is a leading career platform for women and non-binary individuals in the creative industries. From February 2023 to January 2024, ILN has made significant strides in providing networking opportunities, resources, and mentorship for underrepresented groups Key Activities: Peckham Rise Programme (ended in Aug 2023) - Partnered with MARKET to support 20 underrepresented entrepreneurs in Creative & Tech industries. - Delivered 8 targeted workshops on business, marketing, pitching, and funding. - Facilitated 1:1 mentorship matching and coworking access. - Hosted an IRL networking event to foster collaboration. Free Networking and Mentoring Sessions - Delivered free online networking events and speed mentoring sessions, benefiting 100 people monthly. Community Growth and Newsletter Expansion - Moved from Mailchimp to Substack in January 2024, resulting in rapid subscriber growth, reaching 6k+ by the end of January. - Curated and shared 10+ essential opportunities per week, offering 100+ opportunities monthly to the community. all free, Online community grew to over 40k+ Scaling Mentorship Efforts - Researched ways to expand mentoring opportunities and applied for funding to launch the next round of mentoring schemes, allowing us to impact more mentees. Impact - 85% of Peckham Rise cohort were women or non-binary, 65% BAME, and 70% from lower socio-economic backgrounds. - 100% of participants stated that the programme helped them achieve their business and personal goals. - 100+ individuals benefited monthly from free networking and mentoring events, strengthening our commitment to accessibility. - 6k+ subscribers gained via Substack, reflecting significant growth in community reach. Success Stories: Sarah from Design Gals grew her business from an idea into a full-time operation, securing clients directly through the programme. Claire from Petrichor Projects doubled product sales within six months. Nicole from Wellekin refined services, helping her digital marketing agency thrive. ILN’s efforts have delivered powerful outcomes, fostering inclusivity, business growth, and personal development for women and non-binary individuals in the creative industries.
