The Company has delivered affordable mindfulness activities to local communities and on line. The company continued to deliver mindfulness sessions and meditations in – St Michael’s Community Centre SR2 9JT. The people attending still continue to practise with us as they found benefits for their mental health and well-being. An 8 week Delving Deeper structured mindfulness course was delivered for experienced practitioners at St Michael’s Community Hub. Participants benefited by having more intense mindfulness teaching and techniques to practise at home. Chi Gung Mindful Movement sessions were delivered at Grindon Community Church Project. This helped participants feel better in mind and body. 6 mindful walks were delivered and funded through the Seascapes project. Participants feedback was that being in nature and especially by the sea, helped boost their mental health and well-being. Carers were supported by the company delivering an introduction to mindfulness course at Sunderland Carers Centre and meditation sessions at Grace House charity. Feedback showed that carers found it supported them in their caring roles. Staff at Sunderland Psychological Services benefitted from a staff well-being day of mindfulness. Partnered with The Singing Elf social enterprise to deliver mindfulness retreats and sessions plus a mindful singing walk. This enabled us to open up the benefits of mindfulness to more people in the community and ensure our sessions were accessible. Partnered with Ashbrooke Yoga to deliver yoga, qigong and mindfulness sessions that were accessible to people with disabilities and long term physical conditions. Feedback was that the yoga and mindfulness looked after mind and body and these have continued every Friday, supporting the community to better mental health. We delivered mindfulness for children and families at a 3 days well being event at Barnes Park. The children reported that it helped them feel calmer. The company attended networks such as Well-being Network, VSA network. This benefitted the community by having platforms to let residents know what was on offer from the community.
Stakeholders are: The local community Followers on Facebook and social media Customers Professional Partners/organisations Focus Groups and small group discussions were undertaken to consult on needs. In the light of the findings we designed bespoke Mindfulness materials to meet the needs of the community. E.g. Delving Deeper for those already practising mindfulness and mindful walks) Partners such as Sunderland Carer’s Centre, Back on the Map, MIND, Sunderland BIC and the Bangladeshi Centre were consulted when designing materials and projects to ensure delivery met the needs of all groups. Feedback surveys after sessions and courses. Feedback was positive but where improvements were suggested (e.g. length of sessions, offering refreshments to try to combat isolation and make sessions more welcoming, reasonable adjustments have been made. Social media is used to ask opinions but the response is more limited than face to face discussions or feedback forms. Meetings with stakeholder charities such as Grace House, The Singing Elf and Sunderland Carers’ Centre take place after each course to get feedback from the “customer” and adapt or offer new courses.
Directors’ remuneration in the accounting year amounted to £13,867 gross, as per the attached accounts.
