Company activities and impact

Climbfree provides a weekly, instructor facilitated, climbing session hosted by an established indoor climbing centre. The climbing sessions are advertised as providing assistance particularly for adults 18+ with a social, financial or mental health need. The instructor, who had the relevant climbing instructor qualifications, also provided a mental health syllabus. The aim of the sessions was to encourage individuals to take up a social sport in a safe environment, being taught best practice and safety with regards to climbing whilst benefiting from mental health tools and peer support. During the financial year of 2021-2022 the companies activities have benefited the community in the following ways: In total 410 spaces on these sessions were utilised in that period. 290 of these spaces were provided for free. With 181 being used by males and 229 being used by females. With combined ages ranging from 18 - 68. 1 individual gained full time employment at the host climbing centre. A number of personal testimonies were communicated through a participant satisfaction questionnaire such as the following - "It wouldn't be overdramatic to say this group has saved me, session by session I'm finding myself again."
