Thames Valley Tennis have provided the community with opportunities to participate in sport and exercise in an affordable and safe environment – the team have engaged over 200 new children and 46 adults into the programme which has increased the amount of sessions per week happening in Slough. Thames Valley Tennis have improved provision in areas of deprivation in Slough by helping the community to access facilities, equipment and affordable coaching so there are limited barriers for residents to access activity and adopt healthy lifestyles. For teenagers and adults we have created positive environments for them to develop their leadership skills to help give back to their community – we have upskilled and deployed 3 volunteers into regular sessions. Any profit made has been reinvested in equipment to build more provision and specialised equipment to appeal to a wider age group of participants – for example this year we have focussed on increasing capacity so TVT paid for 2 qualifications and managed to get 5 new adults into leading roles at the club.
