Company activities and impact

Kent Creative Arts Therapies (KCAT) is a Community Interest Company with the primary aim of increasing access to Arts Therapies in cultural and creative venues. Our focus is on supporting the Kent community and in particular people of all ages and backgrounds, who have experienced any form of mental health issues, including complex health issues, challenging life circumstances and other social barriers. It is our belief that engagement in Arts Therapies helps people to better manage their mental health issues and this can then result in an increased capacity for the person to contribute and engage in the world around them. We have run a handful of workshops for Porchlight, a young person’s charity. We have also run a couple of sessions for the University of Kent for a community research project. Finally, we ran a couple of sessions open to the general public.
