Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 30 April 2024 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

The directors have chosen not to file a copy of the company's profit and loss account.

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover comprises the invoiced value of goods and services supplied by the company plus grants received, net of Value Added Tax (where VAT registered) and trade discounts.

Company activities and impact

Across the stated year MyBB Education cic has initiated and carried out the following category of activities: 1. Workshops and sessions – one off and/or recurring learning/participative experiences for children and adults on areas involving literature, well-being and cultural engagement from an African heritage perspective. 2. Community Events – We have organised larger scale community events to celebrate 75 years of Windrush UK. 3. Creation of cultural resources – We have developed a range of cultural sensitive greeting cards in response to greater demand from the communities we serve Communities served have benefited from the above through having services directed at their specific needs in terms of the stated areas. There have been wellness benefits from the opportunities provided to get together and talk about a range of ideas, feelings and experiences. It has combatted isolation and engendered a sense of community amongst the participants.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our key stakeholders are: 1. The local communities we serve – in particular through the MyBookbasket shop 2. Other local organisations whom we partner with to deliver services 3. Other local organisation whom we partner with as beneficiaries to our services We have held regular consultation and updating session online and in person with our community stakeholders via the creation of a steering group which has helped us to ensure we are providing the kinds of services that the community needs/wants and also enabled us to promote our services to the community. We have consulted informally with local providers and organisations whom we may draw upon in order to facilitate our programmes and services and through whom we can engage in quality assurance measures. We have also spoken with schools, nurseries and community groups who may wish to utilise the services we offer.

Directors' remuneration

During the accounting period the following remuneration was received by directors within the course of carrying out their duties: R. Squire – refund for payment for a training course £24 - expenses paid in connection with travel to a MyBB event £50 V. Alexander – refund for purchases of resources and equipment £404.58 - payment for facilitation of workshops £160
