Riff Raff Producing CIC believes that arts and wellbeing are inherently linked, and that creating beautiful objects, spaces and participatory experiences gifts people an opportunity to feel valued and feel part of a community. Riff Raff Producing creates high quality, multi-artform work which celebrates and brings together families and communities, promotes wellbeing and offers opportunities for meaningful participation. Benefits for participants include access to cultural provision otherwise not available to them, raising aspiration, confidence and emotional literacy skills. This can also lead to increased wellbeing and a reduction in feelings of isolation. Over the financial year this report pertains to, we have supported a number of projects both for clients and ourselves, including A wellbeing project for mums and their young children A rural touring production reaching underserved audiences Mentoring an emerging producer to deliver a festival for emerging artists in rural Scotland Supporting a community music organisation with strategic capacity building Development of a touring production exploring gender-based violence Delivery of a Children’s Arts Festival in rural Speyside Our beneficiaries are wide and varied, from those in deprived urban areas to those in isolated rural areas. We have worked directly with main caregivers and their families through our wellbeing project and Speyside Children’s Arts Festival. We have supported other organisations working with socio-economically deprived communities in Edinburgh and with rural communities throughout Scotland.
