The company is a self-help group for anyone affected by Chronic Fatigue and other Chronic Conditions. The company offers support, advice and information to sufferers, carers, family and friends. The company aim is to build understanding, friendship and assist in limiting isolation. The company has achieved their aim this year by: Hosting face to face meeting at the local library in which we have from 3 – 7 people attend each month. The company has WhatsApp group with 16 members The company has a facebook group with over 95 members The company hold online meeting via MSN Teams and has 5 – 7 members attend. The company sends out monthly Newsletter emails to over 30 members Together we share an understanding and support for each other.
The company has a membership scheme in which the members get to vote on any issues/decisions that are required. There are currently 6 members. All other attendees to the meetings or social networks are referred to as ‘contacts’ There are four directors who have had M.E./CFS, Pots and Gilbert Syndrome collectively for a number of years and the business model is based on their experience and those of the members/contacts. Everyone that attends the monthly face to face meeting is invited to share their experience of chronic conditions. This helps us to build a profile of the service users’ needs and what we can do to meet them effectively. Our research has enabled us to identify that there is a large gap in medical knowledge and a lack of support from Professional Practitioners. The companies aim is to offer as much support as it can, however none of the members or directors are Medical/Professional Practitioners.
