Company activities and impact

Promoted the value of slowing down with dogs by maintaining a *website and social media (5.1K members on Facebook group) platforms for teaching, sharing, and ‘showing the right thing’ and the importance of dog ethogram by focusing on sharing images or videos that reflect our movement’s mission and aims. Created learning opportunities for dog guardians to experience self-development by offering a more intimate group of people, a place to connect and learn on our PATREON group. This platform provides almost all of our operating costs, with 30 members paying us £160 per month. We conduct a monthly ‘SLOW Monthly’ Friday Chat where we talk about science and the human/dog relationship with monthly content such as ‘Slice of [dog] Science’ and ‘Do You Believe in Dog?’ We raised funds to create a four-minute educational and awareness professionally made indie film, ‘What is the Slow Dog Movement’ by a successful Crowdfunder.uk fundraiser. Our film was shot and produced by Polychrome Studios, York and has been shared via social media and I have given a talk at my local community library which was well intended. We plan to use the film as an educational tool for our future ‘Slow Dog Movement Diplomats’ in their home countries. Hosted Dr Nick Thompson, DVM, for a webinar exploring ‘SLOW Food’ and Dog Nutrition. PATREON members were given exclusive access to this video and then it was uploaded to our public YouTube channel this summer 2024. Upheld the highest level of advocacy for dog welfare via our downloadable ‘philosophy’ and ‘brochure’ [now available in eleven languages] while also supporting and providing empathy for the humans who care for them to the best of our ability have created a firm foundation of trust for the work of the Slow Dog Movement C.I.C. By providing a safe and respectful forum for discussion over the use of dog equipment, training methods, the dog ethogram, appropriate exercise, and the basic needs of dogs amongst many other topics, our social media platforms, website, educational and in person events. Created a *website and store featuring our branded merchandise to raise awareness of our philosophy and money for future educational projects developed by our C.I.C.
