In 2023/24, TwistFizz C.I.C. facilitated tennis activities at Eltham Park South, Shooters Hill Sixth Form and Cator Park MUGA, offering year-round coaching for approximately 190 juniors and 50 adults weekly. The programme expanded to approximately 30 hours of organised tennis weekly, and included free family sessions from April to October, promoting togetherness, health and well-being. We supported 11 teams in the Kent Leagues during the summer and winter providing all year around competitive opportunity for children and adults. In association with key partners, we delivered free tennis sessions in the local community providing lots of fun, free play activity for local people. We were also awarded funding from the Peoples Postcode Society to continue our work engaging with young people. Our impact was bolstered by a dedicated team of volunteers, earning us the 2022 Parks Venue of the Year award from Kent LTA.
TwistFizz C.I.C. ensured that decisions were made in consultation with our key stakeholders who include: The Royal Borough of Greenwich Council, Shooters Hill Sixth Form, Councilors, Friends Association, Greenwich School Sports Partnership, Players, Parents, Coaches and Volunteers. The steering group continued to meet quarterly to advise the Management Board to achieve its aims: drive participation and broaden the reach of tennis in the local community, improving health and physical well-being. Coaches meet weekly to contribute to the development of coaching programmes, share the progress of players and discussthe challengesfaced by participants and the wider community. This has led to several adjustments to our curriculum offer to better fit the needs of players Coaches engage with service users informally through regular participant progress reports, and biannual social meet ups for players. The Management Team has collaborated with various partners to enhance our facilities and to organise community focused programmes, competitions, festivals that benefit local people. We also gathered feedback from customers via email, Whats App groups, and face-to-face interactions. These insights have allowed us to improve our communication channels and enhance the delivery of our services
