The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 January 2024

Principal activities of the company

Skate Haven's Activities and Impact between February 2023 and January 2024 Principal activities & impact: 1) Weekly, free-of-cost, sessions (33 x 2h) for a small cohort of nine primary beneficiaries (service users at Step Out Mentoring, all of whom have at least one registered disability and are registered for free school meals). Sessions primarily took place at The Well Community Church (Step Out Mentoring's premises at the time). 2) Occasional, free-of-cost, outreach sessions (12 x 1h) for young people (112 total attendances) at local youth charities. These sessions were large group introductory lessons (max 15 people per session) that served to introduce the sport to beginners and promote the organisation to potential future beneficiaries. Sessions were run with Nunhead Westminster House, Inspire Walworth, Somerville Peckham, DOST Newham, Bermondsey Explorers, Evolve Housing + Support, Salmon Centre Bermondsey, and Step Out Mentoring. 3) Occassional, free-of-cost, skatepark trips (approximately 10) for primary beneficiaries and more, with groups of max 7 participants. Trips were made to the following skateparks: Clapham Common, Crystal Palace, Charlton, Peckham Rye, Folkstone Gardens, The Grove DIY, Bay Sixty6.

Main Developments: 1) Strong relationships created with youth charities, service users, and families. 2) Relocation from The Well Community Church to the multi-sports facility at Decathlon, Surrey Quays. 3) Edu-Skate programme (in partnership with Concrete Jungle Foundation) development and research project (upcoming Summer 2024)

Consultation with stakeholders

Primary Stakeholders (service users; students; families) are consulted on a weekly basis. Session protocols implement feedback both before and after sessions, and each season of sessions implements a general discussion & feedback opportunity to discuss the programme structure, aims, activities etc. Secondary stakeholders (partnered organisations) are consulted regularly on the development of sessions and the organisation. Main secondary stakeholders are Step Out Mentoring, and Concrete Jungle Foundation. Step Out staff is involved in planning of sessions on a weekly basis. Concrete Jungle Foundation receive a monthly report on Edu-Skate session numbers, activities, successes & failures etc.

Directors' remuneration

The total amount paid by directors in respect of their yearly services outside of in-session hours (ie administration and management) for the organisation was a one-off lump sum of £1,000 (paid to two directors) in November 2023. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors
