Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 31 May 2024 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

The directors have chosen not to file a copy of the company's profit and loss account.

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from sale of goods and from rendering of services. Turnover is reduced for estimated customer returns, rebates and other similar allowances.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible fixed assets are measured at cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost of the fixed assets, less their estimated residual value over their expected useful life on the following bases Leasehold - 10% Straight line Plant and Machinery - 25% Reducing balance Computer Equipment - 25% Reducing balance

    Other accounting policies

    Stock and work in progress Stock and work in progress are valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value after making due allowance for obsolete and slow-moving stocks. Cost includes all direct costs and an appropriate proportion of fixed and variable overheads. Work in progress in the accounts on a contract by contract basis is recording turnover and related costs as contract activity progresses.

Company activities and impact

No Limits Community Cafe & Hub is a Community Interest Company that provides employability skills, customer service skills and barista skills to adults with different abilities in order to support them in accessing paid employment and living a more independent life. We offer Supported Employment opportunities in the form of work experience, Supported Internships, Supported Apprenticeships and paid employment for adults who need additional support. In addition, we are Disability Confident Leaders who offer Outreach advice advice and services to other individuals and organisations in becoming disability confident, making reasonable accommodations and securing funding for adaptations, equipment and Job Coaching. We envisage that the number moving into paid employment will increase with our new Outreach work, as we have limited paid opportunities with but can facilitate so many opportunities in the wider community.

Consultation with stakeholders

We work alongside many local organisations, charities and services (including health, social and education) whilst providing our services. Our Key stakeholders at present include; Local Special provision schools, Devon County Council Presentations about Supported Internships and Work Experience Opportunities and meeting with two possible provisions for outreach support. Colleges for Internships and Apprenticeships Working on Supported Internships and Apprenticeships, Working on Supported Internships 'work group' with colleges and County Council Social Prescribers, We continue to support the members of the public by providing a safe welcoming space where people can come to meet or meet with their social Prescribers in a non-judgemental environment. The Rotary Club, We support their golf days with catering provision, and they continue to support us with adhoc funding Newton Abbot Chamber of Commerce, As a member we have a page on their website about Supported Employment and we network with local employers regarding out project and supported employment for people with disabilities. The Rees Foundation, We continue to be a safe space for the Care Experienced, we have our own 'Rees Ambassador' who is Care Experienced themselves and offers support and signposting to customers. We offer Rees discount to card holders for food and drink which the Rees Foundation reimburse. The National Lottery Community Fund, who has given us another 3 years of funding to support our Outreach project. Devon County Council, We are piloting a Supported Employment scheme with funding from the Council. We provide work placements for people in receipt of County funded Direct Payments. Coop Community fund Job Centre Plus, DWP Access to Work Referrals to our Work Experience Programme which we provide every 8 weeks. This is always growing as we move further towards expanding our Outreach Programme and working with other organisations. We have been commissioned by Devon County Council to complete an Outreach pilot for their Supported Internship work due to our reputations and results with No Limits provisions. We have a Supported Apprenticeship within the Cafe completing a level 2 Production Chef course at South Devon College. Our Coffee Company provides free Barista training every 8 weeks for our participants. The Rees foundation provide free drink and reduced food for 'care experienced' customers.

Directors' remuneration

There is a total directors' remuneration of £59,383. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors or compensation for director's loss of office, which require disclosure.
