Devonport Live is a friendly and relaxing cafe and community hub, which brings together generations of Devonport residents to be the change in their community. It's a meeting place for local people to talk and share ideas and thoughts about the future of Devonport. Devonport Live community hub provides opportunities for supporting local residents with a variety of activities and events, delivered across the week to meet local need, encouraging participation and reducing social isolation. Engaging with local interest groups, providing a free meeting space. A sponsored display space for local artisans to sell their products. Devonport Live supports local people with complex needs by, sharing information and signposting to professional support organisations, who can help people with Health, Money Advice. Employment and Training. The CIC provides internet access to online services, for Housing, Benefits, and a wide range of other online organisations. Devonport Live is a community resource; bringing together and supporting local people who have a shared interest in their local community.
During the year 23-24 the CIC grew its membership, developed its membership procedures and recruited an additional 30 local residents. Bringing the total membership to 150. The members meet on a two-monthly cycle. The members contribute by: Providing feedback on activities and events, suggest new activities, which are presented to the board for resource approval. Identify emerging needs or residents in crisis who need support. Members are currently planning and identifying the roles and opportunities for volunteering and further supporting the needs of the community. The membership has agreed that Volunteering would be the theme for 2024/25
