TCS has applied to receive extension funding for a ‘families together’ psychotherapy project for children presenting challenging behaviour, mental health issues, neurodivergent and who otherwise would not be able to access services due to financial hardships and the impact of the cost-of-living crisis. The previous year’s funding was received from National Lottery totalling £10,000, the project ran up to 2023. -TCS has continued to accept self-referrals and referrals from local organisations where we have provided couples counselling, family counselling and one to one counselling at base site, supporting clients to feel empowered to make changes in their lives and deal with difficulties from their past and present. -TCS has carried out work with the local authority on behalf of adoptions east midlands to provide various psychotherapies/therapies to children with developmental trauma and attachment needs who are adopted and placed on a special guardianship order and their families. This work is supporting some of the most vulnerable children and young people in our community. -TCS continues to work in partnership with other local community organisations to achieve the best outcomes for those who access our services.

Consultation with stakeholders

The directors are also residents of the Nottingham Community and have experience of working in education establishments, both compulsory and higher education, and within the social care sector; this has guided much of our project work, as we have experiential evidence with stakeholders that the services we offer are much needed within the communities we work in. Clients and service users complete evaluation wheels, feedback forms, and anonymous testimonials and organisations similarly complete feedback forms. The feedback has helped our company to evaluate our services, we have found that our service is effective and to improve we have been offering family counselling, as this is a current need within our community to encourage lasting changes for children and young people by supporting their family network to become more resilient and improve their emotional and mental health also.
