Company activities and impact

Chime In was set up as a Community Interest Company on 7th March 2023 by three experienced directors, with the intention to create unique interventions to assist in addressing some of the community challenges within the deprived areas of South Yorkshire. Our Vision is that everyone feels enabled to take action in building healthy, creative and vibrant communities. Our Mission is to enable communities to deliver social action, build enterprising cultures and create a legacy of purposeful change. Our work aims to amplify community voices, choices and opportunities, with our values that are built upon three pillars of change 1.Improving Lifestyles by inspiring local people to improve the areas they live in 2.Raising Aspirations by building knowledge, sharing expertise and cascading skills 3.Making a Difference by creating legacies of action through lasting impact on peoples hearts, minds and places The impacts of our work in the first year include Consulted with, and listened to, 135 young people, aged 11 to 19, about the environment, types of activities and careers they have access to and what they would like to see in their communities in the future. Delivered 36 weeks of youth activities to include environment and social action sessions. Supported 5 voluntary, community and faith groups in the community with sourcing funding, engaging with young people and running events and activities.

Consultation with stakeholders

Chime In CIC was set up to address the needs of the chosen communities where Directors live, work, and where they have undertaken delivery and research in previous roles, in South Yorkshire. Aiming to specifically work with young people to prevent the continued cycle of deprivation and decline in these communities, alongside supporting the community to make change in the specific areas of neighbourhood problems such as health and wellbeing, environmental issues, and community safety. South Yorkshire is where our heart is, and we specifically work in these areas included in this proposal as we want to make a difference to our local people, places and spaces. Unique methods are used to consult with younger stakeholders, which takes the form of games and quizzes to encourage a greater participation rate and interest in consultation. We have consulted with a variety of stakeholders, including: Young people in Doncaster and Sheffield aged 11 to 19. Head teachers and other education professionals.
