Company activities and impact

During this financial year The Sikh Games CIC have been going around to various Sikh Gurdwara’s (places of worship), to encourage the community to get involved in sport, alongside attending events in the community to engage with the community. Towards of the end of the Financial year 21-22 The Sikh Games Camp prepare for a 2 day Camp at the end of August 2022 the Launch in October 2022. The Camp was planned to insentivise more Athletes to sign-up to The Sikh Games and give them an opportunity to learn and develop professional level sporting guidance and experience from some of the amazing coaches, covering areas of: Sports Science, Sprint, Nutrition, Strength and conditioning, Powerlifting, Cricket, Football, Boxing and Gathka. The Launch event has been sponsored by NatWest Bank for 13 October 2022, which will be attended by some of the biggest businesses/stakeholders within the Sikh community and all The Sikh Games Partners (such as Sport England, FA, ECB, England Squash etc), and some of The Sikh Games Global Ambassadors. The appetite for the event was huge and almost all elements, from venue, catering, drinks, photography have been sponsored. Activities that have taken place during the financial year also include: -Filming Videos for a mobile application that will be developed and used by the Athletes that have signed up. -Filming promo videos to encourage the sign up of Athletes to the Camp -Recording videos to create mini-documentaries of Professional Athletes to inspire others to develop a healthy lifestyle and find a sport to better their health. -Developing the Ops plans and designs for marketing posters for Roadshows around the UK in order to encourage sign up. -Tendering of Insurance quotations in order to ensure there is adequate cover for the delivery of sports once possible to do so in order to encourage sign up -Speaking to more Sporting bodies and getting their involvement in the Sikh Games and reputational support for the initiative

Consultation with stakeholders

Our Stakeholders are: Sport England, The Football Association, England & Wales Cricket Board, England Boxing, England Squash, British Judo, British Powerlifting, the Gathka Federation, Archery GB, The Army, The Navy, The Royal Air Force, NBA, England Netball and Sporting Equals. They have been consulted to support the Sikh Games with hosting their respective sports to give the following: -Reputational support -Assist with the sports tournament that takes place during The Sikh Games August 2024 -Assist with demo sports at The Sikh Games (to encourage more sign up for the future) -Assist with funding for their respective aspects -Record messages and share on their social media platforms to endorse support. -Assist local clubs with coaching (discounts, women coaches mainly free of cost) -Armed forces (Volunteer support at The Sikh Games, The Camp, Fundraising events, assisting with Army Bands and Parachutes for the Opening Ceremony, assisting local clubs with usage of their facilities to train in) -Royal Navy specifically – Water Polo Matches -Sport England – Sharing The Sikh Games trailers on their platforms and assisting with funding applications. In addition to sporting bodies, we are looking to invite prospective sponsors to assist with the event Launch and if possible also obtain their financial support for the initiative. The Media partners are: Akaal Channel, PBC, Punjab2000, PTC Punjabi, Raaj Radio, Panjab Radio. We have also done a lot of interviews with BBC (Regional, Asian Network). They have been consulted to support The Sikh Games with: -Raising more awareness to encourage people to get fit and healthy -Sharing stories of Ambassadors -Encouraging people to sign up to the UK’s 1st Sikh Games -Encourage donations/sponsorships -Encourage more Volunteers to sign-up and get involved in sport (Coaches, admin, fundraising etc)
