Equality PTA CIC provides educational support services to public sector, not for profit and community interest organisations. During this accounting period, Equality PTA CIC is proud to have been the architects of reform and improvement to a local preschool. Equality PTA CIC implemented structural improvement to the service premises, refurbishment of learning resources for early years, organised and delivered training and upskilling opportunities including First Aid for all staff resulting in a successful Ofsted inspection and grade. Equality PTA CIC, delivered community events and actively participated in the community voluntary sector forums, designing focus groups workshops focused on support for families with children having special education needs and disability. Equality PTA CIC participated in the delivery of community sports diversity and inclusion initiatives which has attracted support from Members of Parliament, Local Politicians and Premier League Sports personalities. The initiative was well attended by local schools and sports clubs resulting in additional take up from schools in the wider UK communities
The company’s stakeholders are Schools, families, residents of and visitors to the Medway communities. The director of the company lives in Medway for several years and developed the business model for incorporating equality, diversity and inclusion, bridging the gap between the socially disadvantaged and local businesses and services. We canvassed the experience of local families asking what their experience about resources in the community has been in the promotion of equality, diversity and inclusion specifically in education system. Our research has enabled us to identify that families’, parents and guardians disproportionately showed concern in the educational development gap as an ongoing impact of COVID-19 pandemic in addition to personal safety on children from disenfranchised demographics. Additionally, our research revealed concern from families about the complex framework about children with special education needs and learning disability (SEND). Families expressed feeling overwhelmed with the legislative framework and accessing local services specific to SEND. Equality PTA CIC has embarked on consultations with Solicitors and Children’s Advocates to inform the future design of community engagement initiatives to bridge the gaps identified and promote harmonious inclusive community experience for families.
