Company activities and impact

Treat Me Right CIC offers free training, support coaching, and mentoring to empower women and non-binary individuals, enhancing their safety, wellness, and economic well-being. Specializing in economic empowerment and economic abuse prevention, we collaborate with specialist organisations for referrals and signposting when the required support exceeds our scope, capacity, or expertise. Key achievements over the 12-month period include: 1. Thrive Women Economic Empowerment Programme: - Launched a one-year Entrepreneurship and Career Development Programme (funded by the Lottery Community Fund) comprising of: - 16 training sessions. - 1 Business Show to showcase participants' businesses. - 5 Pop-Up Shops to test and sell new products and services. - One-on-one coaching and mentoring. We are immensely proud of the achievements of the women who participated in the programme. The new businesses created, and the employment opportunities generated are a demonstration of their success. "THRIVE came at the perfect time for me, just 10 days after leaving an abusive relationship. Without Thrive, I wouldn’t be as positive and motivated to build myself up on my own." - Thrive Participant (now a business owner). One notable success is the opening of Bloom & Whimsy - Art, Gifts & Homewares in Tontine Street, born from the Thrive programme. "Thrive gave me the confidence to ask my partner to join me in opening the shop." - Thrive Participant 2. Community Space and Support: - Secured low-cost office space for training, workshops, and one-on-one support and providing FREE space for project members to work from. - Provided free weekly co-working space for women during and after the Thrive programme, fostering a community space for local women. - Helped secure £15,000 in grants for new projects by women who attended the programme. - Raised and distributed £1,300 among participants to support their businesses. "It might not seem much, but it will help me buy materials, which in turn I will sell and double my return." - Participant 3. Annual Campaign: - Run the "Let's Talk About Love" campaign, raising awareness of domestic abuse. - Delivered a range of art workshops exploring love and relationships, complemented by 12 workshops funded by Kent Community Foundation. 4. Creative Wellbeing Workshops: - Delivered a series of creative wellbeing workshops throughout the year. Overall, around 120 women and non-binary people have benefited from our work during this period.

Consultation with stakeholders

Treat Me Right's core principles facilitate meaningful co-production, ensuring that the voices of those with lived experiences inform and shape all our work. We actively consult stakeholders and service users throughout the year through one-on-one meetings, group discussions, focus groups, and questionnaires. This continuous feedback loop is integral to our approach, influencing both programme design and activity delivery. Over the past year, we engaged with over 50 people to gather their views on our services and identify gaps in community support.
