COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

WILTERS GYM CIC

Company Number: 13162606 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 January 2024

Company activities and impact

The company operates as a boxing club for fitness and competing. Based in Maryport, Cumbria we have a small catchment area and one of three clubs in town. This greatly reduces our users but my love of boxing and providing for the community keeps me involved. Since Covid 19 we have lost a lot of attendees, as many clubs have because people found something else to do and gained other interests. This fact greatly affected our subs and as such the club has run at a loss, but because of my love for the sport i have managed to keep it going the best I can. Our future is uncertain due to finances but hope this improves greatly as normality slowly resumes. NO money is paid for wages as i am a volunteer and on occasions when i cannot open due to other commitments, the club has to remain closed. The Glub is open at least one evening per week, ideally two times when possible. Some of those who attend are unemployed or out of work in which case I provide services free so they can enjoy the benefits without the pressure of costs. The financial year in question ended with a loss but still managed to keep it going at my cost.

Consultation with stakeholders

There have been no consultations but feedback is welcomed from users of the club. I am the sole Organiser and manage the club/Company by myself, which is demanding but i manage best I can.

Directors' remuneration

No remuneration was received

Transfer of assets

No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
