PART 1 - GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANY’S ACTIVITIES AND IMPACT We have developed a volunteer coordinator role through NDSU core funding and built up a regular team of volunteers. It also enabled us to maintain the garden and put in place water collection systems on all our buildings. In July 2023 we started working in partnership with The Compost Culture Project and The Active Wellbeing society and built a bespoke 3 bay hot composting system. We then worked on a joint funding application for the Climate Action Fund to set up compost demonstration sites across Birmingham, which we were successful in getting , however it started in June 2024. Legacy West Midlands were one of the first groups to buy into our composting facilities and brought a group of women to learn all the different methods in 2 workshops. OLDP charity hired the site several times to deliver family activities about electrical safety and coding . We have continued our partnership with Seven Up Charity who hire the site to deliver 19+ SEND sessions and Youth sessions, we have also hosted their AGM and fundraising events. We were also successful in gaining a grant from Perry Barr NNS to run a project for over 50’s Cook and Create involving learning different cooking methods outdoors including our earth oven and creative activities including gardening and art. These sessions focussed on a small group of regular local participants and we had 4 sharing events which were well attended and supported by Positive Image with market stalls and other local enterprises. We had a successful year and all of our activity has centred around food from growing, cooking to composting. (If applicable, please just state “A social audit report covering these points is attached”).
Stake holders are Positive Image who own the land that Crick Gardens CIC use and Seven Up Charity who have an outdoor cabin on the land. We met with the directors of Positive Image and fed back all the activity on site and our plans for the future and they were happy with the update. We have regular ongoing conversations with Seven Up Charity and were present at their AGM.
