Company activities and impact

Our primary services include Lansdowne Centre, a welcoming youth space; tailored Mentoring & Coaching; and interactive Events & Workshops. In the last year, we have made significant strides in empowering young people through consistent engagement and support. Our youth space saw the growth of our collaboration with local Jobcentres, which continued to allow young Universal Credit claimants to have their appointments at our centre. We delivered one-to-one sessions to young people that supported their personal and professional development and saw their positive progression towards education, employment and/or training. We attended and hosted workshops and events which saw us engage with young people, supporting them to explore various career opportunities. These workshops/events were delivered at our centre or were attended by our team at schools, Jobcentres, youth organisations and community outreach events, within our local area of Lambeth and across other London boroughs. Key achievements include: Youth Space: Our youth space has fostered an inclusive environment where 60% of attendees reported increased confidence and improved mental health. We had 253 individuals utilise the space when attending our evening sessions, having Universal Credit appointments, studying, interviewing, and job searching. One-to-One Support: We delivered 271 hours of personalised mentoring sessions to 49 young people, resulting in 65% of participants progressing into employment, education, or training. Community Engagement: We facilitated 32 events and workshops, connecting with 92 young people through our open-access space, career fairs, employability workshops, and networking opportunities. Some of our employability workshops are facilitated at a local Jobcentre, providing training in small groups of 5 – 10 young people each session. Strategic Partnerships: Our collaboration with Lambeth DWP has enabled us to co-locate Youth Employability Coaches at our centre, creating an environment for vulnerable young people to have their appointments in a welcoming space and access our support. This partnership allows vulnerable young people to have appointments in a more relaxed, welcoming space, encouraging them to engage better with DWP who in turn are able to better address their needs.

Consultation with stakeholders

Young People: We provided regular opportunities for young people to provide feedback on our services formally and informally, through comments during sessions, surveys, and interviews. Young people also helped us to evaluate the relevance of our services and how we deliver them. Local Organisations: Local organisations we collaborated with were actively engaged and encouraged to help us deliver our services and/or provide feedback to ensure we were meeting the needs of the young people in the community. Board of Directors: Made up of an executive director and two external non-executive directors, the Board met quarterly to hear from the CEO about the organisation’s activity and provide support and good governance to continue steer the organisation in the right direction.

Directors' remuneration

No other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
