Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 31 January 2024 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

Company activities and impact

Weights & Cakes weightlifting academy supports children and young people aged 6- 18 to achieve their full potential. The Club focus on activities promoting wellbeing, teamwork and citizenship using the medium of Olympic Weightlifting. Youth Weightlifting teenager clubs. 4 x teen session School sessions. 4 teenage workshops. Increase engagement for teens reduce ASB. Under 12's 6-8yr old SEND girls session. Improve health, fitness and well being of U12's Provide safespace for SEND girls. Holiday Activity and food sessions Together for Children & Dept Ed. Offer fitness, nutrition, support and activities for young people in Sunderland and provide hot meal.

Consultation with stakeholders

Consultations are held with our members (parents & Carers) on an annual basis and monthly with the youth committee to discuss the projects and activities they’d like to participate in. We consult with a variety of projects locally, The Sara Project, Local police team, Southwick Neighbourhood youth project, TFC, Local council, Schools and youth projects to ensure that we are meeting the needs of the community and our sessions are accessible to all.
