Junction Point was founded upon the belief that, with the right support, individuals and organisations can change the world. This year, we are proud to have expanded our support offer beyond Newcastle and Gateshead to include South Tyneside, North Tyneside and Northumberland. This includes both inspirational support for budding changemakers as well as business development activities to support existing changemakers. Key highlights include supporting: - Junction Point CIC won the contract to deliver the North Tyneside Business Factory Social Enterprise offer. Between Oct 23-March 24, we’ve supporting 8 social enter-prises to grow their revenue and 8 pre-start social entrepreneurs to explore their ideas through accessing 12hrs bespoke support. - 28ppl have accessed ‘Business with Purpose,’ a 12 hour training programme for pre-start social entrepreneurs across Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside and North-umberland. This project is being delivered in partnership with the North East Enter-prise Agency Ltd (NEEAL), with Junction Point CIC leading on the majority of pre-start support. - 24 free 1-hour appointments have been delivered to BIPC clients interested in pur-pose-led support, an additional 8 SMEs have accessed 12hrs funded support from Junction Point CIC. - 9 residents have been supported to lead on their own Social Action project 'Around the doors' 2023, engaging with around 100 community members and school children to boost aspirations in their local area through the use of vision boards, artistic map-ping and building affirmations for the future. - 12ppl participated in our Social Finance roundtable discussions on behalf of VONNE in Newcastle & North Tyneside to feed into the development of a local fund headed up by NTCA. - 20ppl have supported a research partnership between Junction Point CIC and Durham University Business School to explore ‘Accountability & Social Impact’ - 80ppl accessed our Art with Purpose programme designed to encourage more artists to use their skills for good. This has resulted in 7 new local partnerships between VCSE organisations and artists and a new active Facebook group encouraging more people to join in. - 80ppl attended the Social Enterprise Day 2023 celebrations at Northern Stage. This event is growing each year with more opportunities to grow in 2024. - ‘Getting Grant Ready’ half day workshops have been delivered to 67 participants across Newcastle, Gateshead, South Tyneside, North Tyneside and Northumberland on behalf of BIPC. We are booked to complete the suite in Sunderland in 2024. - 40ppl accessed our pilot project ‘Paddling With Purpose’ where we showcased local wellbeing social enterprises and charities by putting on a ‘pamper’ day for local changemakers. - 10ppl attended our Theory of Change training session, delivered on behalf of PNE and the Social Enterprise Boost programme. - We have also provided Independent Evaluation support to a local CIO as part of their Heritage Lottery Funded project. This allows us to demonstrate best practice and showcase the brilliant work of local VCSE organisations.
Junction Point CIC’s stakeholders include individuals with a passion to make a difference as well as organisations who are already working towards a more positive future. Organisations include charities, social enterprises and purpose-led businesses. At a local level, we continue to build our network of strategic partners including VONNE, NEPO, NTCA, Newcastle University, Durham University, Northumbria University, Newcastle City Council, NEEAL and North East LEP to champion the role of social action and the social economy. At a National level, Junction Point CIC is remains an active member of the National SEUK Places group as a representative of Newcastle. This year Junction Point CIC has collected stakeholder feedback into it’s services ahead of conducting a Theory of Change review in 2024-25 and a wider strategic review of operations. To date we have had 50 responses ranging from partners to participants. This will be used alongside our activity feedback which is collected and analysed throughout the year. All of our activities include a feedback loop ensuring constant consultation with our stakeholders. This allows us to be responsive and make continuous improvements to services. This feedback has led us to explore new ways of delivering training materials to be more inclusive and accessible.
The aggregate amount of emoluments paid to or received by directors in respect of qualifying services was £36000. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of Directors, or compensation for Director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
