EcoGrow Community Interest Company offers community wellbeing activities to enhance the welfare of the communities to which it serves. With an emphasis on environmental education and community inclusion, sustainable practice, and healthy lifestyles EcoGrow CIC designs and delivers mainly outdoor activities including forest school, growing and cooking local produce programs, environmental education, and art and wellbeing courses. In conjunction with Birmingham City Council EcoGrow CIC has engaged hundreds of children in healthy lifestyle holiday programmes this year promoting the importance of sport, healthy eating, and being outdoors. Feedback from these has led us to design and deliver family cooking workshops outlining the complete cycle of growing food on our allotments, harvesting, cooking and eating which not only gives satisfaction to the families involved but fosters a deep connection with the Earth and their community giving a strong sense of belonging to all involved. EcoGrow CIC has organized many seasonal community events this year including spring, summer and autumn nature craft activities for all ages, conservation days such as habitat creation and forest management and day trips to garden centres and local nature reserves. The impact on the local community has been very positive, EcoGrow CIC has fostered tremendous relationships with many regular volunteers, provided work experience opportunities with The Princes Trust, provided seasonal work for local people and provided a safe inclusive space for members of the public to enjoy each week. We promote inclusiveness and serve a culturally diverse community with many disabled service users.
All directors. All volunteers. All service users. All community. Landowners. EcoGrow CIC carries out multiple feedback sessions each year including online surveys, social media, meetings in person and paper feedback forms at each event. EcoGrow has a mailing list and active social media platforms to share and collect information from the community that it serves. Data collection is a vital part of the planning and preparation process prior to and after each event to allow EcoGrow CIC to have an informed idea of what the community needs and how best to deliver those needs
