The director has not been required to make any material critical judgements in the process of applying the company's accounting policies. |
Turnover |
Turnover arises from the provision of overseas development consultancy services. Revenue is recognised when the outcome of a transaction can be estimated reliably, by reference to the stage of completion of the transaction at the end of the reporting period. |

Financial instruments |
Financial instruments are recognised when the company becomes party to the contractual provisions of the financial instrument. The company holds only basic financial instruments which comprise cash and cash equivalents and other debtors and other creditors.. |
Cash and cash equivalents - these include deposits held with banks. |
Other debtors - these are initially recognised at the transaction price and are subsequently measured at amortised cost using the effective interest method, less any provision for impairment. Amounts that are receivable within one year are measured at the undiscounted amount expected to be receivable, net of any impairment. |

Taxation |
Taxation for the year comprises current tax. Tax is recognised in the Income Statement. |
Current taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted. |
Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the statement of financial position date. |
Foreign currencies |
Assets and liabilities in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rates of exchange ruling at the statement of financial position date. Transactions in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rate of exchange ruling at the date of transaction. Exchange differences are taken into account in arriving at the operating result. |
Pension costs and other post-retirement benefits |
The company operates a defined contribution pension scheme. Contributions payable to the company's pension scheme are charged to profit or loss in the period to which they relate. |
Going concern |
The company has substantial cash reserves and low overheads. The directors therefore believe that the company is well placed to manage its business risks for the foreseeable future. |
Therefore the directors have continued to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing these financial statements. |
