BASIS OF PREPARING THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS |
TURNOVER |
Turnover represents street donations, collection monies and other income generated from the organisation, promotion and operation of the annual Rye & District bonfire celebrations. |
The ability to stage the annual Rye & District bonfire event relies upon the financial support of the community both in the build up to the event and on the night. The event also depends on the generous and enthusiastic support of the members of the Rye & District Bonfire Society. |

TAXATION |
The company is a mutual trading company and therefore no tax liability arises on the surplus in the year. |
GOING CONCERN |
The Society is dependent on public financial support and the time and hard work and support of the member volunteers throughout the year. The annual bonfire event in Rye is planned and proceeds subject to the raising of sufficient funds. The society can continue in any event. The directors consider that the production of the accounts on a going concern basis is appropriate. |
