Company activities and impact

Due to the ongoing cost of living crisis, families across the North East are facing an increasing reliance on statutory services and support. In turn, working closely with local authority Community Safety, Participation and Youth Service teams across North and South Tyneside PTS have been well placed to offer accessible and inclusive physical activity sessions services targeting those most in-need. Through a number of different programmes described below PTS have engaged with 4200 individuals this year including 250 regular members across paid for weekly sessions. Power Through Community – 260 Teenagers engaged in Park Nights events across Wallsend and Burradon as part of HAF / UKSPF funded work targeting ASB hot-spots. Hot-meal, multisport, skate park jam, live DJ and graffiti artist providing diversionary activities with over 980 attendances across 26 sessions. 2 established weekly youth sessions engaging within 80 teenagers on a weekly basis, multisport, arts and gaming provide a safe space for young people to be themselves. Over 20 sessions delivered across South Tyneside in partnership with South Tyneside Youth Services. From established youth club sessions to detached work outdoors PTS have engaged with over 380 young people. 12 weekly sessions including a combination of junior, senior and family and youth sessions including Multisport, Ball Hockey, Rolley Hockey, Roller Skating and Artistic Roller Skating. Engaging with over 250 regular participants across Newcastle, North and South Tyneside. Power Through Schools – Ongoing work within Silverdale SEND as part of OSF funded work has become well established with PTS staff providing internal classroom support throughout the year. Ball Hockey tasters across Gateshead engaged with 310 young people from year 2 to year 6. Power Through Education Further developing relationships with both Northumbria and Newcastle University has lead to the creation of 12 placement opportunities this year. Providing valuable vocational experienced across marketing, events, sports development and coaching positions. 10 regular volunteers engaged and upskilled, with 2 more coaches progressing onto level 2 qualifications and into paid coaching positions. Consultation with stakeholders

The company's stakeholders are all residents in proximity to ongoing projects and all individuals, local authorities and engaged participants that have engaged with aspects of our service throughout the year. Senior members of staff and directorship have been actively engaged and involved with aspects of delivery and regularly communicate with stakeholders face to face. Ongoing consultation with stakeholders via face-to-face meetings, social media platforms, focus group interviews, contact us sections of website and email whilst working in partnership with local organisations via network events including regional youth network events allows direct consultation with statutory services. PTS workforce encourage feedback both during sessions and post-delivery ensuring continuous improvement on all aspects of delivery through constant reflection. Utilising the Sportfin online booking management system provides an additional channel of communication with all members. Findings from this years' survey will help to guide further development within sessions ensuring sessions remain fun to members and encourage social interaction. With mental health being an emerging priority for many current members, ensuring staff are trained with mental health first aid, psychologically informed environments and also ACE's in Doorstep Sport will be key priorities this coming year.
