The company runs a sanctuary for farmed animals. The sanctuaries activities have benefited the community in the following ways: local residents have been volunteering to look after the animals as well as help build the infrastructure to support their welfare. This has given people who are often doing office jobs the chance to work outdoors in the countryside alongside animals who they would never normally interact with. Everyone who comes expresses how healing the experience is for them. Offering education to visitors of all ages about farmed animals - how they live, interact, communicate, the level of their intelligence, sensitivity as well as their unique personalities. This experience offers the humans who come an informed choice regarding their food choices. The sanctuary is a vegan organisation however we are open to everybody vegan and non vegan with the intention of allowing people to make up their own minds.
Our stakeholders are the volunteers who come to offer their time to help with the tasks of looking after the animals and raising money to support them. Many of the decisions are made collectively. We have one full time volunteer who is also the director of the CIC - Mark Wakeling - He makes the general day to day decisions however many of the projects including our social media presence, any building projects, website and fundraising are very much community activities with decisions made collectively.
