Emerald Book Club CIC - Annual Community Benefit Report Overview: During this financial year, Emerald Book Club CIC has actively engaged in community-building activities designed to foster social connections, inspire creativity, and encourage cultural exploration. Through a variety of events and interactive sessions, we have brought together individuals of all ages and backgrounds to connect over shared interests in literature, poetry, and community spirit. Below is a summary of our key activities and their impact on the community. 1. Big Lunch Community Event - June In June, we hosted our annual Big Lunch event, inspired by the Eden Project Communities, to celebrate unity and friendship among community members. This event encouraged participants to bring and share dishes, enjoy games, and engage in lively discussions, fostering a sense of connection and inclusion among neighbors. The event was well-attended and served as a platform for strengthening relationships within the community. 2. Community Birthday Celebration - August August marked the Emerald Book Club's community birthday celebration, where community members gathered to celebrate together. This event provided a joyful occasion for fellowship, allowing members to bond and connect in a relaxed, celebratory atmosphere. The event helped further build our community network by creating a space where all were welcome to celebrate and share in the club’s success. 3. Monday Poetry Nights Throughout the year, we hosted Monday Poetry Nights, offering individuals a platform to discuss, share, and perform poetry. These sessions encouraged participants to express their thoughts and emotions creatively, sparking dialogue and deeper understanding across diverse perspectives. Poetry Nights have also served as a meaningful outlet for participants to connect over shared experiences, promoting mental wellness and creativity within the community. 4. Monthly Book Club Meetings At the end of each month, we held book club meetings, focusing on a selected book for thoughtful discussion. These meetings provided members with opportunities to engage in meaningful conversations, develop critical thinking skills, and explore various viewpoints. Monthly meetings have successfully built a vibrant, inclusive community of readers and lifelong learners. 5. WhatsApp Group for Members To keep our members connected and engaged beyond physical events, we created a WhatsApp group for regular chats and discussions. This platform allows members to exchange ideas, recommend books, and stay updated on upcoming activities. The WhatsApp group has played an essential role in maintaining ongoing support and interaction within our community, providing a consistent and easily accessible channel for connection. Conclusion: Emerald Book Club CIC is proud to have fostered a supportive, inspiring, and inclusive environment for our community members throughout this financial year. Through our events, discussions, and digital channels, we have promoted social engagement, creativity, and personal growth, consistently working toward our mission of connecting individuals through literature and culture.
