2. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
Basis of preparing the financial statements |
The directors intend to liquidate the company and therefore do not consider it to be appropriate to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements. |
Turnover |
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes. |

Depreciation on fixed assets has been changed from 25% on reducing balance, 25% on cost and 10% on cost to straight line between 2 - 5 years and 20% reducing balance for the year. |
The rate has changed to provide a more accurate rate based on the expected lifetime of the assets. It is not practicable to report on the effect on the prior period or current period because the amounts involved are negligible due to the age of the assets. |
Hire purchase and leasing commitments |
Rentals paid under operating leases are charged to profit or loss on a straight line basis over the period of the lease. |
Pension costs and other post-retirement benefits |
The company operates a defined contribution pension scheme. Contributions payable to the company's pension scheme are charged to profit or loss in the period to which they relate. |
Debtors and creditors |
Debtors and creditors with no stated interest rate and receivable or payable within one year are recorded at transaction price. Any losses arising from impairment are recognised in the profit and loss account in other administrative expenses |
