Turnover represents rental income from properties, net of value added tax. |
Investment property |
The investment properties are shown at market value each year and are valued by the directors, with any surplus or deficit arising being transferred to a revaluation reserve. Revaluations are performed with sufficient regularity such that the carrying amount does not differ materially from that which would be determined using fair values at the balance sheet date. No depreciation is provided and the directors consider that this accounting policy results in the accounts giving a true and fair view, as the residual value of these properties is so high that any depreciation charge would be immaterial. |
