OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES |
Review of the year's activities |
The main activity this year was the performances of the Script Room at Whitton Library in March. Two performances (3pm and 7.30pm) played to capacity audiences, with 4 writers' work presented. The plays called for 6 actors to play the roles which meant a larger company than usual and the largest cast to date. The production was a key event in the Library's 50th anniversary celebrations which helped to generate lots more interest in the company and its work. The writers were Robert Frew, Alan Kilpatrick, Amelia Stephenson and Carol Saint Martin. As a previous recipient of its funding Optik was one of the charities selected by Heathrow Community Trust to receive a donation from Heathrow Airport of an iPad Pro 24 is a great asset to have for promoting the company and its work generally. Optik has been selected to take part in next year's Richmond Arts and Ideas Festival and has been awarded funding for the production which will take place over two days giving three performances at Whitton Library in June 2025. Throughout this year the company has been the supported financially and by volunteer support by the Friends of Whitton Library and the Community Library staff |
