The company has been winding down during the last 12 months as Enterprise South West Shropshire - a social enterprise trading as the Lifeline Co. - takes over the tourism development role for Bishop’s Castle and the surrounding area. ESWS has completely revamped the area website and are dealing directly with accommodation advertisers and those organising festivals and events. The Tourism Co., directors believe ESWS, soon to be CIC with tourism in its portfolio, is in a much stronger position than the Tourism Co. to support this important economic driver for the town and villages. ESWS is a much larger organisation with premises and staff. The directors voted unanimously at the annual meeting to close BC&CTCIC and merge with ESWS.
