Agenci’s mission is to empower artists to make a living from their work. We aim to do this by providing support in producing their projects, finding connections to commissioners and platforms to showcase their work. Our work offers benefits to our community in three main areas: 1. Advice and project development services will provide access to quality, affordable, personalised professional advice. Giving artists much needed business planning support, thereby increasing their chances of success, particularly those who are just starting out. By Agenci Arts providing support in producing their projects, the artists benefit from finding connections to commissioners, platforms to showcase their work and signposts to funding. 2. Event production, business and audience development services to arts organisations. This allows them to extend their reach into their community, helping make arts and culture accessible to everyone. Particularly those who may consider the arts are not for them. This helps arts organisations play their part in community cohesion, build local networks of community groups, whilst utilising the skills and talents of their local artists. 3. Businesses trying to find the right type of artists or arts organisations to work with can find it daunting if you don’t know the sector. Agenci Arts will work with businesses who want to give back to their community by engaging with arts & culture. Our CSR consultancy services for businesses will provide help and advice to find exemplar arts organisations and artists to work with. Planning for The Future - Recap In 2022 we had begun developing an artist search & find service for architects & developers and businesses in general. We had believed that this could be a good way to support the artists in finding work. We had started to research the market, including finding what are the key network groups for architects and interior designers; finding popular trade publications to advertise in and setting up a database of key industry events to attend. We had begun to research a marketing & PR strategy, researching to see how to better utilise online platforms and social media to reach these other sectors. We had believed that concentrating our efforts in this area could well be a way forward for us to deliver on our mission to empower artists to make a living from their work. But then in June ‘21, in the second year of the pandemic, the Director suffered a bleed on her brain. This meant that all plans for the future were put on hold until she was well enough to return to full time work and Agenci’s services were mothballed. They have remained mothballed throughout 2022 & 2023. The Way Ahead The Director was finally signed off from the hospital in March 2023. In 2024 we decided to keep the company services mothballed for a further year. During which the Director took a year’s sabbatical. The sabbatical has come to an end and the Director decided to close the company and pursue other interests. She still remains committed to artist development and it’s hoped that she will continue to contribute to the sector in some form. We thank the many artists and arts organisations for their kind words of support and encouragement. God bless you all.
The Director was finally signed off from the hospital in March 2023. However, during the months that followed there was limited interaction with our stakeholders as her attention and energy were given more pressing matters in her personal life. It was clear that she needed to acquire self-clarity and decide whether to take early retirement and close the company or make it dormant. Following a period of reflection, and in light of these other priorities, it has now been decided to close the company, and release the Director to pursue other interests.
The aggregate amount of emoluments paid to or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £250. Please see the line titled ‘Consultancy fees’ in the accounts. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which required to be disclosed.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
