Company activities and impact

The Folkestone Thrive Through Menopause project ran over 12 weeks from June to August 2023. The project’s aim was to support women through their menopause transition and was primarily aimed at those from a lower socio-economic background. This demographic is less likely to access independent services due to cost and often lack of awareness that such services exist. Over the course of the project, we focused on the main symptoms experienced by the participants. The sessions ran weekly in person and participants also had access to an online group where additional information was shared and there was a weekly Q&A session. Participants could also get in touch if they had any specific questions requiring 1-2-1 support. Each participant completed a questionnaire at the beginning and end of the project to ascertain where they had experienced improvements in their health and wellbeing. Participants also completed a case study at the end of the project where they could share more of their thoughts and experiences as a participant. Overall, the questionnaires and case study indicated a significant improvement in participants’ health and wellbeing. We are planning for the remainder of 2024 and will be running the same project again in Folkestone and a new project in Dover.
