In 2023 we raised money for and organised 15 pilot events for the local TNBI community over an 8 day ‘Pride week’ period. These events covered a wide range of activities to ensure that there was something for everyone. We worked with local businesses & Hastings Council to deliver a beach picnic, a film night, tattoo session, badge making, life drawing, socials for dogs and humans, a big queer party, a picnic on the beach, a book club, a trans museum tour, two cinema events, trans skateboarding, local business training and a craft event for parents & partners of TNBI folk. We organised public consultations before and after to meet with our community and discuss plans and talk through what they thought did and didn’t work. We also supported some local community members to organise their own events that fed into the celebrations, like a fabulous art exhibition from local artists which also served to raise much needed funds. The benefits for local TNBI people were vast as there haven’t been any events like this locally before and so we got to form a community and meet each other in safe spaces.
We had two public consultations around last years events and sent out surveys to everyone who came to our events. The responses received formed the basis for our plans for Trans Pride Hastings 2024 events. We also appointed a board of trustees from the local community.
The total amount paid or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £4,800. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
