Youth Unlimited CIC have developed valued, universal, community Youth Work Projects in deprived communities of Taunton, Highbridge, Bridgwater and also in the rural communities of Stogursey, North Petherton and Woolavington. These rural communities have pockets of deprivation and lack of services and lack of access to opportunities and services for it’s younger population. Youth Unlimited CIC work with the members of their youth clubs offering positive social and educational experiences in a safe environment. They do this with the support and engagement of the community and other agencies. Youth Unlimited have supported other community groups / activities sharing staff, skills and resources to benefit others. Attended multi-agency and professional's meetings, advocating on behalf or the communities young people. Youth Unlimited CIC provide street based youth work (known as Detached Youth Work) in Taunton, Highbridge, Bridgwater and communities throughout Sedgemoor. They engage with young people in the parks, on the housing estates, shops and other places that young people choose to be. Engaging with young people who are often disengaged and at risk of social exclusion and exploitation. Youth Unlimited works with schools to support students who are at risk of exclusion. Offering informal education and support to students and their families. Identifying positive opportunities, providing direction, and developing social skills for building resilience. Youth Unlimited CIC have also delivered informal “Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education” to students providing important development opportunities for young people to explore issues that may affect them. Youth Unlimited provides one to one mentoring services for young people in the care of the local authority (Somerset and out of county placements). Providing support, informal and alternative education, social opportunities and activities. Addressing personal issues which may present barriers for development and inclusion for the young person. Youth Unlimited CIC aims to provide opportunities for young people to be positively instrumental, active and valued in their communities, addressing issues affecting them, raising aspirations and self-esteem. This contributes to the prevention or reduction of involvement by other professional services such as social care, welfare, health, education, police, youth offending teams etc. Youth Unlimited CIC coordinates the Young Carers In Schools Awards for Somerset. This enables schools to identify and support their young carers and receive accreditation and recognition.
No consultation with stakeholders
Directors' remuneration for the year £39,600 (2023 £36,700). There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
