Year Ending: 30 January 2024

Company activities and impact

This financial year, Leeds LDM Basketball has delivered a variety of basketball related activities that align with our mission to create opportunities and change lives through sport. We have organised several junior basketball teams, offering young people across the Leeds region the chance to participate in competitive basketball. In addition, we have provided both low-cost and free community basketball sessions, focusing on improving young people's physical and mental well-being. These sessions also act as a positive outlet, providing a diversion from anti-social behaviour and benefiting disadvantaged and underserved communities in Leeds. We utilised funding to support our commitment to becoming a trauma-informed organisation, working closely with young people and their families to act as an intermediary in helping them access the support they need. This approach has allowed us to better understand and address the challenges faced by the communities we serve, ensuring that our programmes are both responsive and supportive to those dealing with trauma.
