As this is the first filed company report, it is to be explained that LifeRoute CIC was formed with a particular focus to help tackle the hugely concerning suicide levels within young adults aged under 35 years in the UK. However, it is an issue that has since also become reported at an international level. As many of these young people are in universities and colleges, where not only students, but also teachers and staff, struggle to sustain healthy mental and emotional wellbeing, LifeRoute has specifically created an initiative Caring on Campus. This has the aim to bring compassion into all interactions through the explicit application of learning to give voice to human values, and in so doing, will have a direct positive effect on an individual’s confidence and sense of self when they enter the workplace. This is of pivotal importance if contribution towards positive societal impact is to come from the Higher Education (HE) sector, and if all communities are to secure sustainable, healthy, quality futures.
