  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover Turnover comprises the invoiced value of goods and services supplied by the Company, net of value Added Tax abd trade discounts.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible Fixed Assets Tangible Fixed Assets, other than freehold land, are stated at cost or valuation less depreciation and any provision for impairment. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost or valuation of Fixed Assets, less their estimated residual value, over their expected useful lives on the following basis : Fixtures & Fittings 20 Reducing Balance Motor Vehicles 20 Reducing Balance

    Other accounting policies

    Operating Lease Rentals Rentals payable under operating leases are charged against income on a straight line basis over the lease term. Dividends Proposed Dividends are only included as liabilitities in the Financial Statements when their payment has been approved by the Shareholders prior to the balance sheet date. Stocks Stocks are valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value after making due allowance for obsolete and slow moving items. Cost includes all direct costs and an appropriate proportion of fixed and variable overheads.

Company activities and impact

First aid Schools Training CIC has expanded starting from west lothian to schools in Fife, Stirling, Falkirk, Renfrewshire, Midlothian and Edinburgh providing training in first aid. Over the previous financial year the company has produced over 6000 young people with the confidence and skills to step forward when other people become injured or ill. This improves safety in the young peoples schools, homes, peer groups and local community. Bringing us closer to a society where everyone has these skills.

Consultation with stakeholders

The companies main stakeholders are the schools and their pupils we work with. First aid schools training CIC consults regularly with the schools we work with to ensure the highest quality of first aid training is provided and that all young people have thier needs met and have attained a qaulification in first aid. After each school session is concluded we survey all participants in the training to continue to improve and maintain our high standard of training.

Directors' remuneration

The total amount paid or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £9715 There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
