The company runs a yearly ‘scholarship’ providing sporting opportunities for ethnic minorities and/or people of colour in the discipline of ultra distance cycling and racing. Throughout the last financial year, the CIC’s activities have benefited the community in the following ways: Diversifying start lines: supporting scholarship recipients in a training journey towards a prominent ultra cycling race, increasing diverse representation within the sport. Providing scholarship recipients with a bicycle, training equipment, cycling clothing, coaching, mentorship, practice events, and a place in a well-known ultra cycling race. Creating resources (workshops, events, educational opportunities) for the UDS community (350+ applicants over 4 years and the public following) to learn and gain experience around the topics of: sleeping outdoors, camping, training support, nutrition and fueling strategies, sports psychology, and a safe and supportive space to ask questions and try things for the first time. Participating in public events online and in-person, spreading the message of diversity in cycling through story-telling, public speaking, panels, and workshops. Creating role models in the sport for underrepresented groups, championing these individuals through story-telling, and running a successful mentorship program connecting experienced individuals with beginners.
The organisation’s stakeholders are: Taylor Doyle Aston Byfield Tamzin Dewar Vera Ngosi-Sambrook Tayyab Dilmohamud We hold monthly board meetings to discuss relevant topics and to keep stakeholders up to speed on all activities to do with the Ultra Distance Scholarship (UDS).
The aggregate amount of emoluments paid to or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £4100 There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed
