Beacon Services Resources supports parents, carers, teachers, and therapists by offering early preventive care for children's mental health. We provide resources and training designed to help children build relationships through play, fostering essential connections. Our user-centric design removes many barriers to therapy, making our tools a transformative early intervention and preventive resource for mental health in the UK and beyond. In our third year, we have focused on the following key activities: - Sustaining Sales of Our "Cards to Help You Connect" Resources: These cards offer families immediate access to play-based activities, with proceeds supporting charity Adoption UK. The sales income also helps keep the cards available to families in need. - Providing 200 Packs of Funded Cards: Through our funding partners, we distributed packs to families who otherwise couldn’t afford them, using a 6-month subscription model. - Delivering Training for Professionals: We’ve continued offering training for teachers, foster carers, nursery staff, and social workers, expanding the reach of our resources to benefit more children and families. - Maintaining Our Digital Resource, lumin&us : To ensure even greater accessibility, our digital app has achieved around 2,500 downloads in a year. Further information is available here https://www.beaconservices.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Beacon-Impact-Report-2023.pdf
The stakeholders at Beacon Services Resources are: - The children and families using our resources - The professionals who attend our training or use the resources - The commissioners of our training - Local Authorities, schools and Adoption Agencies - The funders of our service – the National Lottery and Innovate UK - Beacon Family Services who provide a referral network for resources and training. We seek feedback from families and professionals using our resources and engaging with training. In the development of all our resources we use focus groups including existing and new users so that families and children’s feedback shape and develop our resources.
