SPORT AND AUTISM (UK) CIC PROVIDES A PLATFORM TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF AUTISM THROUGH SPORT. WE LAUNCHED IN APRIL 2020 WITH THE AIM OF IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF THE EXPERIENCE FOR AUTISTIC PEOPLE WITHIN SPORT. OUR ACTIVITIES HAVE CONTINUED TO ENCOURAGE OPEN CONVERSATION WITH STAKEHOLDERS TO CHAMPION AUTISTIC PEOPLE, WHILE PROVIDING A PLATFORM TO EDUCATE THE WIDER AUDIENCE ABOUT AUTISM. MUCH OF OUR FOCUS THIS YEAR HAS ONCE AGAIN BEEN ON RAISING AWARENESS AND PROFILE. WE CONTINUE TO BUILD OUR NETWORK AND SHARE STORIES OF INDIVIDUALS, WHICH HAS SEEN US SUPPORTING INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS. WE RECEIVED FUNDING FROM TESCO TO DELIVER A SECOND PROJECT AIMED AT REDUCING LONELINESS FOR AUTISTIC INDIVIDUALS BY BRINGING THEM TOGETHER WITH A SHARED LOVE OF SPORT AND STATISTICS.
THE COMPANY’S STAKEHOLDERS ARE MAINLY AUTISTIC INDIVIDUALS WHO PARTICIPATE IN THE SPORT INDUSTRY, BE THEY COMPETING, SPECTATING OR WORKING. PRIOR TO OUR FORMATION, THERE WAS NO SIGNIFICANT REPRESENTATIVE BODY FOR AUTISTIC INDIVIDUALS IN SPORT. WE CONTINUE TO WORK WITH A RANGE OF STAKEHOLDERS ARE PRIDE OURSELVES ON TAILORING SOLUTIONS FOR THE INDIVIDUALS WE WORK WITH. WE ACTIVELY SEEK CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK WITH ALL STAKEHOLDERS.
