During the year in question, the International Blind Tennis Association (IBTA): - Sanctioned the IBTA European Open Championships in Poland and collaborated with Fundacja Widzimy Inaczej (We See Differently Foundation). - Sanctioned the IBTA World Championships in Italy and collaborated with FISPIC, the Italian Paralympic Federation for the Visually Impaired. - Promoted blind and visually impaired (BVI) tennis activities worldwide both online and in-person. - Contributed to BVI tennis initiatives at major international events including at the French Open and the US Open. - Endorsed the Blind Tennis Latin America (LATAM) organisation and supported its mission to develop and grow blind and visually impaired tennis in the LATAM region. - Assessed the organisation's current position pertaining to the Paralympics and status based on the criteria for admission of sports per the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) - Revised the organisation's vision, mission and values. - Commissioned a review of the IBTA Constitution and sought recommendations with proposed amendments to improve governance.
The Executive Committee has: - sought feedback from web users, players, coaches and other interested individuals. - established links with blind tennis associations, maintained relationships with Country Representatives, and helped recruit new member associations. - explored links with the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) and the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
