The company runs a community group in the Hillsborough Area with particular emphasis on promoting small businesses and helping them to thrive following the pandemic and cost of living crisis. During the financial year businesses and the local community have benefited from the following Artwork placed on shutters of businesses increasing the aesthetics of the area and improving brand awareness for the businesses. Community events to draw people to the high street and increase engagement between the businesses and the community. Store front replacement for businesses who were unable to improve their store fronts, this has led to increased sales and increased brand awareness. Installation of street furniture such as bins and benches to improve the area, and to increase dwell time for shoppers. Installation of hanging baskets to improve the aesthetics of the area. Installation of Christmas lights for the area to increase visitor numbers. Delivery of workshops for businesses to increase business owners skills and increase their business success.
The company’s stakeholders are residents of and business owners of the local area of Hillsborough. The directors of the company have businesses in the area and have worked collectively with local businesses to establish where support is needed and the funds would be best spent. We hold a business forum meeting monthly and also a meeting with the Economic Recovery Fund for Sheffield City Council to ensure they are in agreement with the funding being spent where the panel of businesses have agreed.
