The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 28 February 2024

Principal activities of the company

The company's principle activity during the year continued to be supporting the veteran community in South Wiltshire with the following activities: Enabling and sponsoring Salisbury Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast club (AFVBC) Brew n Banter meetings every Friday. Arranging AFVBC breakfasts 3 times a month, paying for homeless veterans and those living in supported accommodation. Subsidising the AFVBC Christmas Ball, Summer Ball and other such events as well as supporting the AFVBC allotment. Set up a stand for Salisbury Armed Forces Day. Set up a new Brew n Banter in Amesbury every Wednesday.

For the year ending 28 February 2024 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from the sale of goods and from the rendering of services The CIC income is mainly generated by the Filed Kitchen selling breakfast on Salisbury market once a month, as well as hosting outdoor breakfasts at various locations.

Company activities and impact

The CIC has during the year 23/24 supported the veteran community in South Wiltshire with the following activities: Enabling and sponsoring Salisbury & Amesbury Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club (AFVBC) Brew n Banter meetings every Friday. Arranging AFVBC breakfasts 3 times per month, paying for homeless veterans or those living in supported accommodation. Subsidising AFVBC Christmas Ball, Summer Ball, and various other such events. Supported the AFVBC allotment. Set up a stand for Salisbury Armed Forces Day Set up a new Brew n Banter meeting in Amesbury every Wednesday. The AFVBC supported by the CIC continues to have a massive benefit to the veteran community by combating loneliness, and isolation by providing easy access to events in Salisbury and Amesbury. Bu supporting the Brew n Banter events the CIC has enabled an informal veterans drop in once a month which is attended by OP Courage and the DWP. Other veterans interested charities also attend these events with their clients to introduce them to re - socialising. The CIC income has been mainly from the Field Kitchen selling breakfasts on Salisbury Market once a month. The CIC purchased a large 6m x 4m gazebo with a 50% fund matching grant from Wiltshire Council which helps the AFVBC with its outreach activities.

Consultation with stakeholders

The CIC meets regularly with the AFVBC steering group which consists of seven AFVBC with various responsibilities across the group.

Transfer of assets

Monies raised at the xmas ball 2023 raffle was donated to Help for Heroes £451.50. Monies raised at the Burns night. held in Jan 24 was donated to the Salisbury Hospice £707.00 and the Wessex Children's Hospice £707.00
