  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Other accounting policies

    The principal accounting policies adopted in the preparation of the financial statements are set out below and have remained unchanged from the previous year, and also have been consistently applied within the same accounts. Basis of preparation The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by the revaluation of certain fixed assets. Presentation currency The accounts are presented in £ sterling. Tangible fixed assets and depreciation Tangible assets are included at cost less depreciation and impairment. Depreciation has been provided at the following rates in order to write off the assets over their estimated useful lives: Computer equipment - 25%

Company activities and impact

During the year CIC delivered various projects aiming at supporting women and their families in Birmingham and Sandwell. Our flagship Luv yourself programs in the community has delivered across several cohorts of women both in Birmingham and Sandwell. We have engaged with over 100 women over the financial year. In addition to this, we have seen a rise in the delivery of our preventative programs in school with young children and teenagers. In education we have also delivered Racial awareness training programs to staff ,pupils, parents and management committee members. Our partnership with west midlands police has delivered programs primarily in Sandwell. We have also offered support for some of the poorest family in Birmingham and Sandwell by providing them with family support hampers which contained essentials products. Our support has also extended to providing education, employment and training to those in long term unemployment. In addition to this we have also provided free drop in sessions and training to community members.
