Company activities and impact

We applied for approx. 7 grants, were successful in 2 (details below) and shortlisted for a 3rd. The 2 grants we received were as follows: - SHIRE Environmental Grant £2250 from Leicestershire County Council Reaching People Environmental Fund £4996– from Leicestershire & Rutland Community Foundation. Shire grant outcomes -62 Year 2 school children from Sherrier Primary School attended the site (farm) visits - Food taken from the farm back to school for educational sessions and soup making – this was end of season produce which would otherwise have gone to compost - 70 jars jam produced and taken home (all of year 2 and some of the Teachers/TA’s in-volved - 10 Teachers/ Teaching Assistants attending events - 1 Deputy head on risk assessment with a view to a longer-term relationship for the school - 436 views on Food waste info poster on school/parent platform – Class Dojo (37 inter-actions) - 427 views on Banana Peel cookies food waste recipe on Class dojo (20 interactions) - 433 views on Food waste info poster on potatoes (34 interactions) -415 views on Food waste info poster on bread (42 interactions) - BBC Radio Leicester coverage on 23rd November mid-morning show -sound byte on project page of website - Direct year group updates on site visit days to 120 parents/carers of the year group - Community Links -the School and Lutterworth Community Transport are now working together on other projects – this grant has helped to support another community local community organisation. This includes a link to the radio interview in studio with BBC Radio Leicester. https://www.goodfood-academy.co.uk/foodwasteschoolfarm Reaching people outcomes To provide an edible garden project for the local community specifically focusing on the young people in the Scouting groups (Beavers, Cubs and Scouts) to provide produce from their new edible garden for use in the community, starting with a gardening event and embedding the skills into the scouting group. Consultation with stakeholders

We have ambassadors for the GFA – these are listed on our website and represent the target groups we want funding to engage with. https://www.goodfood-academy.co.uk/our-ambassadors-2 We communicate with the ambassadors on an individual basis and have an annual meeting to update. The stakeholders in terms of the grant funders have been kept informed at all stages and invited to events etc.
