Armed Forces is a onestop shop , state of the art facility providing advice guidance support to Veterans , their families and carers. We deliver interventions that improve health and well- being, welfare and education and employment, social inclusion, housing and complex dependencies. Utilising a person-centred approach , we work with individuals and their families and carers to tackle multiple areas of disadvantages and the wider determinants of health to create better opportunities for better life chances. We deliver our services across the North West of England via a hub and spoke model working with statutory services , health and voluntary and community sector to support or beneficiaries navigate multiple support opportunities. We have delivered a host of activities this financial year that support our organisational values. Connecting Communities - Supporting the development of positive activities that build meaningful connections, reduce social isolation and improve family relationships. Improved Health and Well-being - Focussed on prevention and early help through mindfulness, physical fitness and family approaches to feeling good, Safe Accommodation -Facilitated access to safe, secure, quality housing solutions with supported tenancies that make houses home. Tackling Complex Dependency- Developing partnerships, pathways and interventions to address serious barriers to life such as addiction, debt and enduring mental health issues. Better Life Chances- Making employment , training, education and volunteering accessible for our beneficiaries to improve aspirations. Sector Collaboration- United the provider of support services for the Armed Forces Community to level up provision , ensure there are safe places for the community to access and developed a quality and evaluation strategy ( Self-assessment -organisational health check) that promotes safer referrals and builds trust in the organisations we partner with ,
We have a variety of stakeholders from the tri services as well as partners and commissioners Serving personnel and reservists Veterans/Service leavers Families and Carers of Armed Forces Cadets and Cadet Instructors We consult with our Stakeholders using a variety of methods: Social Media Feedback forms/forums Focus groups Community events In April 2024 we were commissioned by Wigan council to undertake a comprehensive consultation to inform a borough-wide Armed Forces Community Action plan. In addition , we have consulted with 156 organisations across the North West who work with the Armed Forces Community to develop the Forces Wellbeing Collective . We are constantly making improvements to our delivery from the feedback we receive and communicate this to our beneficiaries, partners and commissioners in our monthly newsletter via our " You said we Did" section, This financial year we have also implemented our service user voice committee who bring us feedback directly from our service users and also plan the annual trips, activities and events calendar.
