Debbi’s Doodles CIC is mainly an alternative provision for children who cannot access mainstream education. We formed as a CIC in May 2023 and operated during this period from Allendale Forge, a local community artist hub (also a CIC). Between May 2023 and May 2024, we underwent a period of substantial growth: - We went from two, to three staff members by hiring a part-time arts facilitator. - We were able to start a home-ed group with this new staff member (a group where home-educated children came to the Forge). - We increased our facilitation from six students to eleven by the end of the financial year. - We participated in local community events such as Allendale Show, Allendale Fair, The Co-op 150th Anniversary Event, and events further afield such as Hexham Pride and Neurodiverse Pride (also Hexham). - We continued with our after-school clubs (such as Comic Club), growing our following. - We also delivered a range of birthday parties, and workshops both in the Forge and on-site. While we established an excellent reputation as a ‘fun’ company delivering workshops and appearing at local events, we have always viewed our ‘community’ as being the autistic and neurodiverse community. Using this definition, Debbi’s Doodles has established itself among many groups in the region.
Our stakeholders are our students and their parents. While as best practice we consult with parents on a weekly basis to see how sessions have gone with their children, there has been no formal stakeholder consultation held.
The aggregate amount of emoluments paid to or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £27685 There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed
