Principal activities of the company

Director's Annual Report 2023- 2024 Hillfoots Tales (CIC), continued to promote, develop and deliver our fortnightly storytelling sessions. We delivered a community storytelling evening as part of the Tillicoultry Community Week and a local storytelling festival over a week in partnership with the Scottish International Storytelling Festival (SISF 2023). These activities took place in a variety of venues across Clackmannanshire. We have a Website and Facebook page with 1,200 followers. June 2023 - May 2024 This was a period of consolidation and development. Hillfoots Tales continued to recruit a number of new volunteers to support us to build a stronger base. One of our new volunteers is now on our management committee, we were successful in accessing funding from the Traditional Arts and Culture Scotland to run a storytelling festival. One of our key members has begun a Storytelling Apprenticeship with the Scottish Storytelling Centre and has undertaken training and shared her knowledge with local storytellers. She was also successful in entering their mentorship programme. Our Director is now listed on the Scottish Directory of Professional Storytellers and performed at the Storytelling Centre's AGM in front of an audience of professional storytellers. Hillfoots Tales continues its work with communities based on delivering the values of connection, creativity, health and learning on a solid foundation of acceptance. We have recently forged a partnership with Historic Scotland and are planning a series of historic tales to be held in Alloa Tower. Our team are unified in this work by bringing passion, support and encouragement to our role and look forward to continued growth in this area.
