Remembering Our Roots CIC (hereafter known as 'ROR') is a Community Interest Company based in Cornwall. We offer support through 1to1 and group programmes, both in person and online, indoors and outside to; acknowledge, open up to, heal and integrate from traumatic and traumatising experiences, develop a strong sense of nature connection, learn bushcraft & wilderness skills and be supported in the journey to a successful and fulfilling adulthood. We primarily deliver our support to; Service People (military veterans, currently serving personnel and their families), victims of crime, vulnerable children and adults, fathers, children in care and care leavers. We are currently developing the qualifications and accreditations to offer Core Process Psychotherapy. External assessment in 2021 concluded - They are aware of the nature of the therapeutic model they apply allows a flexibility and the potential adaptation to meet a range of needs, issues and demographics. The data generated from beneficiaries and external stakeholders proves that ROR are succeeding in providing meaningful and successful support. The success can be attributed to the skills, knowledge and experience of the team and their commitment to the therapeutic model.
ROR engages with local community groups statutory agencies and national bodies who refer beneficiaries. These include RNAS Culdrose, The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, members of the Armed Forces Covenant Partnership Board (Cornwall), Greenwich Hospital, NHS Specialist Nurse Therapist Community Veterans Service, Cornwall Council, Secondary and Primary Schools, Victim Support through the Safer, Stronger Consortium. 2021 External assessment concluded that - Over the last few years ROR has contributed to successful partnerships and consortiums. They have worked to the policies and procedures laid out by the partnerships and adopted governance documents from these partnerships. ROR has provided data on services delivered, followed KPI's and other performance management systems. Through the work carried out, ROR has provided meaningful change to beneficiaries and has an impact of significant social value. This includes unintended wider change for beneficiaries and their immediate families. This impact has been recognised by partner organisations. Because ROR operates effectively financially using woodland settings and keeping core costs low, the value of return is strong. The group method of delivery improves efficiency further, without undermining the method or experience of beneficiaries.
