CAMPHILL SENIOR COHOUSING ABERDEEN

Directors' report period ended 31 March 2023

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 March 2023

Principal activities of the company

to advance citizenship or community development through the provision of affordable accommodation to relieve those in need by reason if age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage who are over 55 years of age and are working in or retired from organisations devoted to fulfilling a charitable purpose or social need

Political and charitable donations

Donations amounting to £6,523 (2022 - £5,611) were received, £600 (2022 - £600) of which were donations in kind in lieu of services provided and expenditure incurred. Expenditure for the year was £20,477 (2022 - £1,215) which largely represents the amounts repayable to related charities on closure of the charity. No funds were carried forward at the period end.

Additional information

The charity has not entered the operational phase which is dependent on acquiring a suitable property which it can in turn rent out to its beneficiaries. Seeing no way forward for this project for now, we submitted an application to OSCR for Consent to Wind-up and Dissolve the Charity as of 29 September 2023. Permission was granted on 9 October 2023, and permission was given on 9 January 2024 to extend the final accounting period so that the last submission of accounts includes information relating to the dissolution of the charity. However, this did not match HMRC filing dates and so an additional filing was made on 2/12/2024 to HMRC for the final months up to 31 Dec 2023. This has now cleared HMRC, and the late penalty waived. We therefore now can formally close this charitable company.
