Basis of preparing the financial statements |
Tangible fixed assets |
The company has adopted a policy of non-depreciation of freehold land & buildings on the grounds of the depreciation being immaterial. Depreciation would be immaterial due to the long useful economic life and a high estimate of the residual value of the property. A high estimate of residual value is justified due to the company having a policy of regular maintenance and repair (charged to the profit and loss account), so that the asset maintains its value. |
