Principal activities of the company

During the financial year, Tiny Travels Cultural Education CIC provided children in Devon and across the South West with interactive cultural educational sessions and Standing Up To Racism workshops as well services like library and environment audits to create culturally inclusive education spaces. Our mission is to promote understanding, reduce stereotypes, and combat racism in rural areas. We offered fully immersive, fun opportunities for children to learn about cultures around the world through play. Our activities included: Delivering cultural education sessions in nurseries, schools, libraries, play groups and family community events. Providing anti-racism workshops to young people, parents and educators. Creating accessible, easy to implement cultural education and anti-racism resources for parents and educators. Our work benefited the community by: Exposing children to diverse cultures from a young age to interrupt generational cycles of racism in areas of the UK that lack cultural diversity. Inspiring a love of learning about the world and its cultures. Helping nurture children and educate their caregivers to value, welcome, and respect all people by providing a space where differences are celebrated. Providing a welcoming environment for children to feel proud of their own and their families’ cultural heritage. Through these efforts, we aimed to contribute to an equal society.

Consultation with stakeholders

The stakeholders of Tiny Travels Anti-Racism Education CIC include: Children who participate in our sessions. Parents, caregivers, and families who support their children’s participation. Nurseries, schools, and community organisations where we deliver our sessions and workshops. Educators and staff who receive anti-racism training. Local communities that benefit from our initiatives aimed at promoting inclusivity and cultural understanding. Stakeholder Consultation: We actively consulted with stakeholders during the financial year through the following methods: Children and Families: Informal feedback was gathered during and after sessions to understand the children’s engagement and the families’ experience. Parents and caregivers shared verbal and written feedback, often reflecting on how the sessions impacted their children’s attitudes towards diversity and inclusion. Schools and Organisations: Discussions were held with teachers and leaders before and after workshops to tailor our content to meet their needs. Follow-up conversations were used to assess the impact and identify opportunities for improvement. Community Events: Feedback was gathered from event organisers and attendees to evaluate how well the sessions aligned with the community’s goals for cultural awareness and anti-racism education. Actions Taken in Response to Feedback: Enhanced session content to include specific cultural aspects requested by schools and families, such as focusing on particular regions or celebrations. Increased resources for sensory engagement, including additional tactile and auditory tools, to improve learning experiences for children with varying needs. Adjusted session delivery methods to better suit the needs of different age groups and learning environments. Developed follow-up resources for educators and families, providing them with tools to continue discussions on anti-racism and cultural understanding at home or in the classroom. Our consultation process ensures that Tiny Travels remains responsive to the needs of the community, enabling us to deliver meaningful and impactful experiences.
