Company activities and impact

CS22 Veteran Expeditions formed in 2023 following a successful expedition to Bordeaux, France by a group of military veterans who wished to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Operation Frankton in WW2. It could be seen that the formula of celebrating feats of military daring and endeavour via arduous expeditions had significant benefit for both the participants and the wider public. Utilising a holistic approach to mental health, the organisation enables its members to plan, fund and conduct expeditions which includes a significant amount of UK based training where members can come together, enjoy adventurous outdoor activities together whilst developing a peer support network. Through a growing social media presence and community, we have been able to engage with many people both in the UK and globally who have an interest in these endeavours and have been able to work with a French TV production company to recreate these missions for a new TV show which has allowed the social enterprise to move towards financial self-sufficiency with all funds going back into the organisation to both develop the qualifications of its membership as well as purchase kit and equipment for ongoing use.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our primary stakeholders are our team members who come from a military background and are able to utilise the framework of the organisation to carry out their own training and expeditions. Our secondary stakeholders are the wider community who follow and support the activities of the organisation and share source material, volunteer to support the activities and also capture the testimony of the members for use in podcasts, online content and also the upcoming TV series CS22 has been involved in.
