The directors consider that the Company is entitled to exemption from audit under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 and members have not required the Company to obtain an audit for the year in question in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 with respect to accounting records and the preparation of financial statements.

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime and in accordance with the provisions of FRS 102 Section 1A - small entities.

The financial statements have been delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

The Company has opted not to file the statement of income and retained earnings in accordance with provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies' regime.

General information

Parkgate Entertainment Limited is a private company limited by shares and registered in England & Wales. The address of its registered office is 124 Finchley Road, London, NW3 5JS and its principal place of business is 51 Clarkegrove Road, Sheffield, S10 2NH.

2.Accounting policies

 
2.1

Basis of preparation of financial statements

The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention unless otherwise specified within these accounting policies and in accordance with FRS 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland' and the requirements of the Companies Act 2006. The disclosure requirements of Section 1A of FRS 102 have been applied other than where additional disclosure is required to show a true and fair view.

The following principal accounting policies have been applied:

Going concern

At the reporting date the company had net liabilities of £467,410 and is dependent on the support of its creditors who have confirmed their intention to support the company. As a result the directors believe it is appropriate to prepare the accounts on the going concern basis. The financial  statements  do  not  include  adjustments  that would result from the withdrawal of this financial support.

 
2.3

Revenue

Revenue comprises film production services and is recognised in the Statement of Income and Retained Earnings in the period it is contractually due.

 
2.4

Debtors

Short term debtors are measured at the transaction price, less any impairment.

 
2.5

Cash and cash equivalents

Cash is represented by cash in hand and deposits with financial institutions repayable without penalty on notice of not more than 24 hours. 

 
2.6

Creditors

Short term creditors are measured at the transaction price, less any impairment.

 
2.7

Government grants

Grants are accounted under the accruals model as permitted by FRS 102. Grants relating to expenditure on tangible fixed assets are credited to profit or loss at the same rate as the depreciation on the assets to which the grant relates. The deferred element of grants is included in creditors as deferred income.
Grants of a revenue nature are recognised in the Statement of Income and Retained Earnings in the same period as the related expenditure.

Finance costs

Finance costs are charged to profit or loss over the term of the debt using the effective interest method so that the amount charged is at a constant rate on the carrying amount. Issue costs are initially recognised as a reduction in the proceeds of the associated capital instrument.

Related party transactions

At the reporting date, £42,325 (2021: £40,183) was due to J Ryan, a director of the company. The loan is not interest bearing and is repayable on demand.
At the reporting date, £770,747 (2021: £550,000) was due to M Ryan, a relative of J Ryan. The loan is  interest bearing, at 3.5% per month and is capitalised, and is repayable on demand.
At the reporting date, £Nil (2021: £2,963) was due to S Ryan, a relative of J Ryan. The loan is not interest bearing and is repayable on demand.
At the reporting date, £187,754 (2021: £193,235) was due to A Shlewet, a director of the company. The loan is not interest bearing and is repayable on demand.
At the reporting date, £619,728 (2021: £625,753) was due from Origin Unknown Films Limited. The loan is not interest bearing and is repayable on demand.
During the period sales totalling £8,400 (2021: £23,368) were due from Origin Unknown Distribution Limited. All transactions were carried out at arms length. At the reporting date, £19 (2021: £2,280) was due from Origin Unknown Distribution Limited. The loan is not interest bearing and is repayable on demand.

Controlling party

Throughout the current and preceeding year, the company has been under the control of the directors by virtue of their shareholding.
