Now in its second year, the company has made significant progress in connecting crafting communities across Hampshire. We have secured physical spaces where crafters can meet, share skills, and enjoy social interaction, promoting mental well-being. In a few areas, we were able to secure venues free of charge, which has been invaluable. With the growing interest in our project, we are actively seeking more free spaces, as the cost of venue hire remains a major challenge and is not sustainable long-term. A key initiative, the ‘Giving the Gift of Warmth’ project, has had a tangible impact on our communities. Thanks to the hard work of our crafters, many blankets were created and donated to vulnerable individuals at risk from the cold due to the cost-of-living crisis, disability, or age. These donations reflect the generosity of our members, and the positive effect crafting has on both creators and recipients. To expand our reach and financial sustainability, we attended Craft Fairs to promote the company and raise funds. These events have been essential in enabling participation, particularly for those who might face financial barriers. This year, we also supported the creation of a Crocheted Coral Reef in collaboration with a local college. This large-scale art installation brought together many of our crafters, allowing them to explore new techniques and showcase their talents. The project not only provided a creative outlet but also served as a valuable promotional opportunity for the company. The public display of the finished installation helped raise awareness of our mission and introduced the company to a wider audience. In conclusion, we are pleased with our progress in the second year and remain focused on providing opportunities for crafters, supporting those in need, and building a sustainable future for the company and the communities we serve.
The Company’s stakeholders include volunteers, donors, fundraisers, and supporters through funding applications. Volunteers: These individuals generously give their time and materials to create community items for others. They are central to our work, helping us improve lives and strengthen local communities. Donors and Funding Supporters: This group includes those who make financial donations or provide funding through formal applications. Their support helps us sustain and expand our projects, reaching more people in need. Fundraisers: A 50K Walking Challenge raised funds for our Giving the Gift of Warmth project. The campaign was highly successful, covering essential costs like venue hire, travel expenses, and materials for our community initiatives. We keep stakeholders informed through a quarterly newsletter and regular social media updates. Those who wish to stay informed can remain on our mailing list or follow us online. We encourage stakeholders to identify individuals or groups in need of the items we create, ensuring that they reach those who benefit most. The company and its stakeholders ask for nothing in return for donated items; all efforts focus on giving and supporting others. For funding stakeholders, we provide periodic reports detailing how funds have been used, ensuring transparency and accountability. In summary, the company values communication and collaboration with all its stakeholders and remains committed to fostering positive relationships with volunteers, donors, and funding supporters.
